We should have got sturridge in the deal for Torres.

We'd be foolish to spend big money on him.

Torres, Marin, Hazard, Mata, Oscar, Moses will all be ahead of him. I don't want him though.

Hazard can play as a striker and did the odd few times for Lille. I'm not saying that he would or should come here, but there's certainly a reason for why he would be available.

Or buy another one. I personally would have kept Lukaku, he'll be twice the player of Sturridge.

Who is there to buy though, Hulk is too dear, Cavani just signed a new contract, theres very little choic out there for someone good to come and be content on the bench.

    Why not?
Before Vermaelen got injured he was rated higher at 84/83, now that he played almost a full season last season his rating will go up from 82 to 83-84, would almost guarantee it, whilst Agger would either stay at 83 or up to 84. Skrtel on the other hand would receive a nice boost to 82.

Vermaelen is 82. I have seen it with my own eyes. Liverpool FC Official Thread - Page 18 3925848005

Apparently they're offering 1.5million euros for the year and an option to buy for 13.5million euros.

    ITV are also reporting it.

I don't like it. Though I would love to watch Andy play in Serie A and dominate opposition defences. He'll definitely do a good job over there.. A million for the year and around 10 million pounds to buy is really shady though.

Why would Andy Carroll do better in a much more technical league?

Because physical presence is a good plus in Serie A. Strikers who bully defences often end up doing well over there. If he goes, he'll do well, not on Ibrahimovic's level but well. You have to watch it to understand fully, since it's a relatively slow game in Italy and a player like Carroll can fit into that system easily.

Thats a really simplistic view though, you could say that more about the Premier League and he hasnt been good at all. Also what big physial strikers do well in Serie A? The majority of successful strikers are small technical players e.g. Di Natale, Totti, Shevchenko, Del Piero etc

It is simplistic, but sometimes simple views are the correct ones. You'll see, Sean Liverpool FC Official Thread - Page 18 2156770003

    I didn't say he was worth £20million!??

You don't pay £35million one season and let him go for £13million the next. He's not even had a good enough chance. He's nowhere near as bad as everybody makes out. Always seems to do well for England where people support him, but when he's playing for Liverpool, it's hilarious for some reason. Of course KD overpaid ... a lot, but he's still a good striker.
