The shape wasn't quite right and Ally will know that, but some of the passing was excellent and really dominated the game. The players were of course not quite match fit yet, having only played 2 games previous, no pre-season. Barrie McKay & Lewis McLeod were fantastic again, 2 of the best players on the park. Would be great to see them develop up the divisions, but in the same token it would be hard to turn down a bid of a couple of million for one of them. Like we did with Danny Wilson, and look how great a decision that was. Rotting in the Liverpool reserves.
Those calling out Goian, he is just not match fit yet. Quality CB as his partnership with Boca proved last season, the most solid defence in the league until our troubles started.
One final point, is just a big thank you to the fans. Again, absolutely outstanding. Backed the team right till the end and will no doubt be happy with what they seen.
Just too many games to quick, annihilated the current 3rd division Champions on Tuesday without having Sandaza, Kyle, Cole, Hutton, Cribari etc fit.
Really exciting times and I can wait for us to kick on.
Well said Ally.
No problem, WATP.

People making out as if a draw is a bad result.
Dominating the game and not having either of your strikers on the pitch is the problem, then we bring Kyle/Sandaza on & Kyle pretty much scored, was snatched on the line from Little. Still scored in the end.
We beat the current league holders 4-0, it could have been 15-0. Players who haven't played any pre-season were obviously feeling it today, as expected. And really, all todays result showed was just how little difference there is from the SPL & 3rd division. We finished 2nd last year in the SPL.

Barrie McKay
Gutted that our new signings couldn't start, Sandaza & Kyle still not match fit. And Cribari is still waiting on International clearance.

Makes me feel old now that we have guys who were born in 1995 in our starting line up.

Newcastle ready to send 10-11 players on loan to Rangers if the Ashley deal is confirmed, waiting on approval from the SFA.

I wonder who he will send. We need a bit more pace out wide and a natural right back. Not a fan of three centrebacks, especially with how slow our three are.

This is what it's like to be Rangers, this is what it's like to be small, we sign 5 players ... you sign no one at all ... no one at all.

Except the SPL two-time record clean-sheet holder. And did I just imagine that fat Celtic reject rejecting you for St. Johnstone?

Beattie admitted that Charles Green didn't want him.
Edit:
And Beattie insisted it was Green’s decision to block the move – even though McCoist wanted to sign him. He said: “I’m disappointed things didn’t work out.
No SPL player outside Celtic would reject us.

Obviously I didn't mean two months - that would be ridiculous. It's an exaggeration for comedic purposes, not a lie. Lighten up.
And he did reject you.

Read the quote, he is disappointed Green rejected him.
I provide quotes to confirm your lies and you still deny it ... lol.

If you can't see that means that Green couldn't afford his demands then there's no point in discussing this further.

To be fair, a point away at the home of one of the current title favourites is a good result for The Rangers.
Strange to think that it's genuinely the worst result in their history.

The thing is, you 2 have arguments between yourself. It's Maestro, Conor & SB that argue between themselves in here and I just happen to be caught up in them as it's supposed to be a thread for my own team, yet ... more Celtic fans post/have posted in here. Plus, you don't post sectarian/bigoted bile.

That isn't even possible, we're going to be playing games every 2-3 days during the season. We've got the Ramsdens Cup, The Scottish Cup & The League Cup. No 3rd division stadiums apart from Ibrox & Hampden have undersoil-heating, therefore there are postponements for weeks of fixtures during the winter. Plus, you do realise we lost 23 players during the summer & possibly losing up to 5 more, this isn't a majority SPL team you're looking at, although there are a number. In our first two games of the season, we've played a 16 & a 17 year old, a lot of the younger lads are being given a chance. Another point, we've played no Pre-Season, most teams have played over 5 pre-season games, so most of our players are unfit. A couple we've signed were without teams and haven't trained at all for 4 months. We annihilated East Fife 4-0 at Ibrox (current 3rd division champions), could have been 10-0 but we took our foot off the gas to avoid embarrassing them. The players were just fatigued for the Peterhead game. Although, we still completely dominated them, we only had 1 fit striker (make shift striker, actually a CDM. i.e. Lee McCulloch. He's 34, so playing 3 times in 2 weeks for somebody like him isn't exactly going to be easy, not to mention his dodgy knee. It was our first league game of the season and with the team, we were fantastic. Our 2 new strikers managed to come off the bench, but they're still nowhere near match fit. Beating the Champions with ease, 4-0 & then drawing 2-2 to the league favourites (before we joined), isn't realistically possible. i.e. there's a reason for it, fatigue. We'll get the match fitness up etc and begin to trounce teams. It's evident when you watch us the gulf in class apart, the passing from us is just something else. Really excited about the future & watching some of the younger lads McKay & McLeod in particular thrive and then be stars when we're back in the top league (I say that with a hint of laughter, SPL ... big league). That's what's good about all this, the academy will start to produce even more stars than it already has done over the past few years. As the SPL struggle without our income, the smaller teams will be making a possible £500,000 from Cup Games vs us which will last them seasons and when the SPL teams start to tumble down the leagues, they'll be able to spend and push up. It's the bigger leagues that are in trouble, not us. And it feels great after the past while of such negativity.
As Bill Struth once famously said:
No matter the days of anxiety that come our way, we shall emerge stronger because of the trials to be overcome. That has been the philosophy of the Rangers since the days of the gallant pioneers.
Full quote:
- Spoiler:
- When being presented with the portrait that now hangs in the Ibrox trophy room, Bill Struth said:
I have been lucky — lucky in those who were around me from the boardroom to the dressing-room. In time of stress, their unstinted support, unbroken devotion to our club and calmness in adversity eased the task of making Rangers FC the premier club in this country.
To be a Ranger is to sense the sacred trust of upholding all that such a name means in this shrine of football. They must be true in their conception of what the Ibrox tradition seeks from them. No true Ranger has ever failed in the tradition set him."
Our very success, gained you will agree by skill, will draw more people than ever to see it. And that will benefit many more clubs than Rangers. Let the others come after us. We welcome the chase. It is healthy for us. We will never hide from it. Never fear, inevitably we shall have our years of failure, and when they arrive, we must reveal tolerance and sanity. No matter the days of anxiety that come our way, we shall emerge stronger because of the trials to be overcome. That has been the philosophy of the Rangers since the days of the gallant pioneers.
Yes, for The Most Successful Football Club In World History to be like this for the first time in their history is difficult, but it won't last long, We Are The People.
The fans certainly believe in the club, we're expected to sell 40,000 Season Tickets in the countries bottom tier, no other club could every dream of this. With the best fans in the world, we'll be back there in no time. And I can't wait.
We'll also hopefully boycott some away grounds i.e. the teams who said no to us going back into the top flight (even though we rejected the chance to fight for it anyway). You say no to us, well we'll watch you suffer rather than give you millions a season.
Look at this for example:
We're going to have attendances of upwards 40,000 at Ibrox every fortnight, when SPL teams are currently struggling to fill even half of their stadium.
There were more fans at our cup game in Brechin (amateur team, we took like 4000) then there were at the Inverness vs Kilmarnock game.
