I'm honestly baffled by that decision as he is the only striker I could have seen scoring a lot for us. Most of our support feel the same as I do.

If Barker leaves now after this loan deal then I will be peeved off..

Gillingham beat Charlton 1-0 yesterday. Surprisingly pretty comfortable aswell. Gills looked solid defensively and actually passed the ball, they didn't do either of those last season! It's only pre-season though......... npower Football League Thread - Page 16 250365

I was hardly paying attention to the game really. Your lad was really unlucky with that 20 yard overhead kick that hit the bar.

Ended up in a pub called the Old Vic or something, then a Wetherspoons (I think).

Fair hike from the station to the ground isn't it!

Finally got the internet a few hours ago. So we signed Kenneth, Baldvinsson and Clarkson this week. Pretty happy with that. Sold Carayol too which I'm happy about the club was admamant despite his twitter outburts they wouldn't accept any less than they stated before so we must have got arund 500k for him.

Bristol Rovers boss Mark McGhee is eyeing Wolfsburg's Fabian Broghammer as a replacement for former winger Mustapha Carayol.

Broghammer, 22, has been on trial with Rovers after he was recommended to McGhee by his former Hamburg teammate and current Wolfsburg manager, Felix Magath.

"I think we've all liked what we've seen," McGhee told BBC Radio Bristol. "Fabian has shown great ability and pace, and I think he's got a goal in him.

"He's got every bit as much pace as Muzzy but didn't get the chance to go head-to-head with him.

"I would even moot that he's got more pace, but he's a different sort of player. He's one we'd like to have a look at with a view to filling Muzzy's boots."

Sounds good. He also said on the OS that he wants another 4 signings - two replacments for the outgone Carayol and Zeb, though.

EDIT: And more than likely a GK because of Bevan's injury only leaving us with one first team keeper 18 yeard olf Conor Gough. We had Iain Turner on trial recently would he be good for a league two side?

40 years ago today at Eastville Stadium Third Division Bristol Rovers drew 0-0 with First Division Sheffield Utd watched by 19,370 fans then followed a penalty shoot out. The first thirteen penalties were all scored until Ted Hemsley United full back had his spot kick saved by Rovers goalkeeper Dick Sheppard. Rovers winning 7-6 on sudden death penalties.

It was Rovers first Cup Final success since 1935 when they won the Div 3 (South) Cup.

Another one of our coaches looks set to leave... this time it's youth team coach Ken Oram who has been head hunted by the Football League. Doesn't say what he'll be doing on the OS. This probably means Marcus Stewart get's promoted after a week.

Eliot Richards will miss our Capital One Cup game against Ipswich after he was called up to play for Wales U21s, again. Deserves his call-up after last season.

Na I have nothing against Barker personally.

He got us promoted, beat that ginger rodent on Boxing Day and kept us up.

Friday night in town was pretty cool too from what I remember.

I bought 40 chicken nuggets in McDonalds and nearly threw up

We've put a third bid in for James Constable. I hope this is the final one accepted or not. New we'd go in again if we sold Carayol because Broghammer is more or less a done deal and free.
