npower Football League Thread
Apparently it's because they haven't won more than 2 games in a row this season, and they cited a 'lack of consistency'.

Lack of consistency is a valid reason. If they want to catch the top 2 then they need to change. A gap was starting to open between 2nd and 7th before today. That only stopped because 1st v 3rd and 2nd v 5th happened.

Re: npower Football League Thread
Didn't go to Gills today, heard they were shite again. Everytime they have lost, Kedwell hasn't played.. says a lot! Only negative about mad dog is he changes the team every game. Charlie Allen started well and seems to have gone off the boil too! Said in his interview he's lookin to strengthen 3 spots. I reckon they are defensive mid (100%), center back after Flanagan broke his foot on interntional duty and striker because they just dont have someone to score 20+ goals.
They had a bid rejected for Gayle on deadline day. He's the bloke who since has gone to Peterborough on loan and singing permanently, can't stop scoring!!
Northampton Saturday, theyre gonna be freshhhhhhhhhhhhhh cos their game today got postponed.

Re: npower Football League Thread
fuck me, I can't believe he got sacked after making us look Sunday league. We werre lucky to concede just 4 in that spell, but I suppose in the last 15 minutes we could have had a few ourselves. Weird game, not worth spending that cash really. Went through Nottingham and it looked like the Gaza strip!

Haha yeah, I liked how they all moved to the side towards the end of the game and had a little dance
Quite a decent atmosphere today. Shame it couldn't have been a normal saturday. Probably would have been a sellout.
Jimmy Saville and Paddy Kenny chants were good

Re: npower Football League Thread
Yeah I was right next to them, know a few of the lads who were in there. Which stand were you in? There was a bit of atmosphere from the corner to our top right side and the people nearest to us on the left, but the stand to our right and opposite us seemed to be pretty dead. Kenny chants were good, as I've not heard them before But unfortunately you must be the 10th club I've heard sing the same old Savile chants, can't blame you as he is a dirty pedo but every time a team sings them they think they are being funny/original but we've heard the lot by now.
Not taking anything away from you lot though, it was fairly loud at 4-1 and I;ve not heard many places louder on my travels this season. Our constant 'We all love Leeds' at 4-1 down for the last 10 minutes or so was cool though. Nobody even reacted when we scored, we just carried on singing it. Can't think many other teams would do that at 4-1 down!

Shit game vs Bury. However there were about 50/60 police surrounding the stadium in all the corners after the match....don't have a clue why as it wasn't a big game

What is going on at Hartlepool United? They are a mile behind everyone in League One, actually behind 23rd place by 11 points.

I'm in the stand that was to your left. That's the main singing area really, and then there's the corner up to your right but I hate it there. That's where I used to have my ST but moved this season. Full of chavs who start We want our Billy back chants and stuff of we go in at half time drawing 0-0
I had that We all Love Leeds chant stuck in my head all afternoon. Your fans always make a good atmosphere though. Even with no trains and it being boxing day, I can only see Derby and Leicester bringing more fans, but only cos it's local. Plus Leicester at home is our last game of the season. That has potential to be a really good game!

Stuck £3 on Di Matteo being our next manager. Returns £16.50
Being a bit hopeful but it helps distract me from the strong looking possibility that we might be getting someone like Roy Keane or Alex McLeish
What a massive fucking backwards step that would be

That's class from Leeds. We have Bristol Rovers saturday and credit to them, they've sold their 1400 allocation despite being shite, with many more expected in the home ends.

I'm heading to Hull tomorrow, yet another early kick off so an early start on the beer! Means that I'll have to spend more if I'm staying out for the duration, not ideal just after Christmas! We have sold out though so hoping for a good atmosphere. I'd take a point.

Gillingham postponed ffs. Waterlogged pitch my arse, I work about 5 minutes away and it's only been spitting.
Wouldn't surprise me if Mad Dog tried to get it called off after the performance on Boxing Day. Southend is their next game, they're unbeatun in a verryyy long time..

Dominated
I don't know when teams will learn not to try and match Hull's 3-5-2 formation for a one off game, the team has the perfect players for the system. It doesn't work, Millwall tried it and got hammered 4-0. Leeds tried it today and it should have been 5,6,7,8.

He actually got a really good reception to be fair. Came out to greet the fans before the start of the game and there weren't any boos. He even bowed down to us, Billy Davies-esque. That was a nice touch.

Re: npower Football League Thread
Horrible performance from us, pretty disgusting really. Nobody showed any desire or commitment at all and Warnock didn't help with very poor team selection and tactics and then making woeful subs when we were 2-0 down and the ship had long since sailed. We were lucky to only lose by 2 and Kenny's saves were the only thing that kept it respectable. Hull didn't even look overly impressive, they just played pretty average simple shit that we made a total balls up of dealing with.
