Re: Gary Hooper
Not taking Defoe is just stupid for you lot. He doesn't need games to be match fit or anything, he's experienced and will get goals like that, only poacher that's English imo.

Rooney
Sturridge
Welbeck
Defoe
Bent
Even Caroll who's been pretty good recently
Are all ahead of him at the moment. Maybe in the future though. Even Grant Holt hasn't been called up yet.

Defoe deserves to start he has been a machine this year with not very much playing time

Defoe is one of the only players who scores all his goals literally from nothing. He just knows where to be and is a calm finisher. England needs him. Bent and Carrol should be nowhere near the squad and Sturridge and Welbeck are also questionable.

Inferior league mentions:
Lambert - 27
Hooper - 24
You can only realistically take 4 or maybe 5.
Its tough I want to bring Sturridge over Crouch maybe just cause Sturridge is very versatile, but its a toss up because of Crouch's england record.

Finally, we have some sense. World Class poacher, shite player. No technical ability whatsoever *queue the youtube videos*.
Are you trying to make out as if Hooper has nothing to his game apart from goals? Because that's just pish. His link-up play, first touch, strength, intelligence and passing are brilliant. "No technical ability," just kill yourself.

If we play 4-4-2 then I would definitely bring Crouch. If not then I don't see him fitting into the team.

I wouldn't take Crouch, his record is also made up of largely scoring against the likes of Trinidad etc.

You had to use Conor's post to tell us which respectable teams Hooper scored againstTheo Filippo wrote:Sums up how consolidatory (lol) most of them were if I can't remember any of them..Grenade wrote:

Damn right.19Jones19v wrote:Not taking Defoe is just stupid for you lot. He doesn't need games to be match fit or anything, he's experienced and will get goals like that
The big concern with Defoe is that he seems pretty poor aerially. I don't know where he'd rank in the squads pecking order, probably third choice and on the bench?fluffy_kittens wrote:Theo Filippo wrote:Sums up how consolidatory (lol) most of them were if I can't remember any of them..

This season Crouch has consistently performed well against the top clubs.
He can only score against those he plays against. It's the same for any other England player, you won't find one who has scored most of his goals against top opposition.
