I think he would suit Real Madrid's style of play more tbh.

It may be unlikely but...

Drogba was the same age when he was told he wasn't good enough for Celtic.
Have you seen him play? Seems a bit unfair to write him off if you haven't. I doubt Cadbury has either.

Let's be honest I highly doubt he will ever play for Barcelona... But the view of some people that he is shit just because he plays in the SPL is stupid as he proved his worth in the Championship.

That's a more reasonable response than most, some people seem to think it's impossible for a good player to play in the SPL. Who would have guessed that when Arteta was a pretty average 22 year old playing for Rangers he would become one of Arsenal's (who at the time were in the Invincibles era) most important players? To be fair though, I don't think Celtic have any first-team squad players that aren't good enough for the Championship. Even the players who aren't good enough for our squad usually end up being loaned to the Championship. I think we had 5 or 6 players loaned to the Championship this season and most of them have done fairly well.

That was my first thought. Tried to see if that was made clear in the article, but it just makes it seem like he said it seriously.

It doesn't matter if I watched him or not, he will never get in the Barcelona team because there will be players that will forever superior.

It does matter, because you are not in a position to judge whether "there will be players that will forever superior," whatever the fuck that means.

Okay then, tell me, is he better than any of the Barcelona players that play in his position?

Barcelona wouldn't think about signing him now, although he probably is better than Cuenca and Tello. They're only there because they're home-grown and have potential though.
Who knows how much he could improve though, he's only 24. Drogba was told he wasn't good enough for Celtic at that age. Di Natale was a mediocre Serie B player.
I don't think he will make it to that level but it's not totally out of the question. In my opinion he is better and younger than Jelavic, and I doubt everyone would be laughing as much if he had said it.

Everybody wants to play for Barca/Madrid, doesn't mean they're good enough.

Exactly. Every 4 year old girl wants a unicorn. Doesn't mean they're getting one.

Arteta wasn't close to being average here. The guy was a class act, he cost 6m from Barcelona ffs. He was quite shite in winter sometimes as he was a bit of a shitebag and wasn't used to the weather.
Being honest, in the last 10 or 15 years there have probably been three players at the most who were good enough to play for the likes of Barcelona. I remember the late 90s and I can say with relative authority that Hooper is nowhere near that level.

He was sold at a loss as we had no money and he was apparently dying to return home.

Rangers have had a lot of players who were or would go on to be good enough to play for Barcelona. Gattuso, Klos, Negri, De Boer, Laudrup, Gascoigne, Van Bronckhorst off the top of my head.
