Surely he should have Capello knocking on his door soon?

Would love to see Gary have an internation call-up!

I doubt it because there are better english players in the Prem/Championship who should get a call up before him

After seeing Boothroyd getting a call-up earlier in the season, i think Hooper definately deserves a chance.

Impressed me a lot at Championship level.

He probably could hack it at Premier League level...not ready for England though.

Well, Daniel Sturridge is better. Welbeck (who is on one cap) is better, as is frazier Campbell imo.

Players like Bent, Defoe, Carroll, Rooney will always be ahead of him, and I've probably left some out.

And there are others that are better that aren't even established nationally.

Yes.. I'd rather have Walcott as a striker as well.

Also Crouch, Davies, Zamora, possibly Beckford and Owen would all get in the England team before Hooper. Out of the above I'd say Hooper was most similar to Owen and considering Capello doesn't seem to play poachers very often, it's unlikely he'll get in the team for a meaningful game.

If Bothroyd can get a call up, so can Hooper.

Remember, last season in the Championship, he outscored Andy Carroll, while playing for a shit team. And look where Carroll is...

he needs to ask permission from sturridge first if hes allowed to play on same pitch as him

Could you define what you mean by a better season? Watford's Danny Graham hasn't even been mentioned and he's the championship's top scorer.

Hooper is playing in the SPL. The three that you have mentioned are 10 times the player Hooper is.

He's not good enough to be a starter, but I don't see why he couldn't become a squad player for England.

But he plays in Scotland so he is automatically pish according to most this forum.

Boothroyd is 10 times better than Hooper? No chance. I also never said he was better than Defoe or Crouch. By better season, I mean that he's scored more this season than Defoe and Crouch combined.

I still don't understand how the fact he isn't the best striker in Scotland has anything to do with being considered for England. The way it's worded makes it seem like you think there's an English striker in Scotland better than him, which is rubbish.
