Gary Hooper
Surely he should have Capello knocking on his door soon?

Re: Gary Hooper
I doubt it because there are better english players in the Prem/Championship who should get a call up before him

Re: Gary Hooper
After seeing Boothroyd getting a call-up earlier in the season, i think Hooper definately deserves a chance.

Re: Gary Hooper
Impressed me a lot at Championship level.
He probably could hack it at Premier League level...not ready for England though.
He wanted to play for Scotland but his granddad was born in Berwick which counts as England

Re: Gary Hooper
Well, Daniel Sturridge is better. Welbeck (who is on one cap) is better, as is frazier Campbell imo.

Re: Gary Hooper
Doubt it..
Players like Bent, Defoe, Carroll, Rooney will always be ahead of him, and I've probably left some out.
And there are others that are better that aren't even established nationally.

Walcott as a striker.

Yes.. I'd rather have Walcott as a striker as well.Mal wrote:kyro7 wrote:Doubt it..

Re: Gary Hooper
Also Crouch, Davies, Zamora, possibly Beckford and Owen would all get in the England team before Hooper. Out of the above I'd say Hooper was most similar to Owen and considering Capello doesn't seem to play poachers very often, it's unlikely he'll get in the team for a meaningful game.

Re: Gary Hooper
If Bothroyd can get a call up, so can Hooper.
Remember, last season in the Championship, he outscored Andy Carroll, while playing for a shit team. And look where Carroll is...

Hooper > Boothroyd. He's had a much better season than Crouch and Defoe as well.
So Jelavic is eligible for England?Jelavic18|RFC wrote:You trolling?

Re: Gary Hooper
Could you define what you mean by a better season? Watford's Danny Graham hasn't even been mentioned and he's the championship's top scorer.SBSP wrote:Hooper > Boothroyd. He's had a much better season than Crouch and Defoe as well.So Jelavic is eligible for England?Jelavic18|RFC wrote:You trolling?

OMFG
Hooper is playing in the SPL. The three that you have mentioned are 10 times the player Hooper is.

Re: Gary Hooper
He's not good enough to be a starter, but I don't see why he couldn't become a squad player for England.
But he plays in Scotland so he is automatically pish according to most this forum.

Re: Gary Hooper
Boothroyd is 10 times better than Hooper? No chance. I also never said he was better than Defoe or Crouch. By better season, I mean that he's scored more this season than Defoe and Crouch combined.Jelavic18|RFC wrote:SBSP wrote:Hooper > Boothroyd. I still don't understand how the fact he isn't the best striker in Scotland has anything to do with being considered for England. The way it's worded makes it seem like you think there's an English striker in Scotland better than him, which is rubbish.
