Wasn't he only there for like 2 years? sums up Scunthorpe if he did get voted their greatest player ever
Fuck off, silly mudrat.
He was clearly an exceptional player for us and we made him what he is today but I do not think he was our greatest player ever. Most people who voted in this poll were probably the modern generation so they would not have obviously witnessed Keegan and Alex Calvo-Garcia who were both fantastic players.
I think Hooper is a far better player than Carroll. Aside from six good months in the premiership what has he done? When Hooper and Carroll were in the Championship in 2009/10 Hooper scored more goals in less games for a relegation-battling team as opposed to champions Newcastle. Even disregarding goals, Hooper is a far less limited player than Carroll who is physically incapable of carrying the ball forward with his feet - one of the most tragic things I've ever seen is Carroll trying to dribble past Savic, of all people, and kicking the ball about 10 metres ahead of him and out of play.
I don't think Carroll has anything special about him. I could never see him having that something extra you need to score a goal like this.

This posts makes me remember when we beat Newcastle 2-1 that season If I remember correctly, Carroll was shocking that game. He also went a loan to Preston a few years prior to that and got sent off against us So the two times I have seen Caroll he has been terrible.

Do you think Hooper could get 15 goals in the Premier League?

What's so hard to believe about that? Jelavic must have scored nearly that amount in 3 months.
True, Hooper probably is better than Jelavic but that only strengthens my point.
Oh dear, now who's attention seeking.
Hooper outscored Jelavic, finished higher than him in the one season they played together, Hooper got awared most prolific striker in Britain that season, Hooper scored more in the big games
Don't kid yourself. Hooper is definately better than Jelavic
