Forty million euro profit if they sell him for the price that's being mentioned... I still think it's a stupid decision if they want to remain competitive in the Champions League. Most of the top center-backs aren't going to move.

Thiago Silva would be a fantastic signing for PSG, they're showing there huge ambition ever more this transfer window. I can certainly see them winning the league next year.

I probably think this way due to being in NA and being used to the business of sport but the truth is that all fans should get used to the trend. It may be the only thing to save football in its current form. The players generally get paid less than their counter-parts in NA sports (NBA, NFL etc..) and football is supposed to have the bigger draws. Top teams struggle to stay in the green and lesser teams suffer from the lack of profit sharing and investment.

There are really only two fixes:
Increase investment (i.e: more teams with richer owners) or;
Decrease the amount of teams.

As much as it is a change that people complain about, I think that most would vote to have more money invested into the game then to have teams close their doors forever.
