They said Rangers had signed Derek Riordan a couple of months back when we hadn't even spoken to his agent

Hooper pledges future to Celtic despite continued interest from Southampton
Gary Hooper is happy to stay at Celtic and fulfil his Champions League ambitions.
Speculation over a move to Southampton resurfaced after Hooper's former Scunthorpe manager Nigel Adkins led Saints to the Barclays Premier League.
Celtic rebuffed Southampton's interest in January and Hooper is content to remain at Parkhead this summer.
Hooper scored on his Celtic debut in a 2-1 Champions League qualifying win over Braga last season but the Portuguese side had won 3-0 in the first leg.
So the 24-year-old is eager to get a chance in the group stages by helping Celtic emerge through two qualifiers in the champions route in July and August.
Speaking about the Southampton speculation, Hooper said in the Evening Times: 'There are always rumours about that.
'But I have two years left on my contract, I am scoring goals and I am loving my football.
'There is a big chance for us to play Champions League football next season and that has been a personal ambition of mine for a long time.
'I loved playing in the Europa League this season and I think the game away to Udinese is one of the highlights of my career. I would love the chance to sample the Champions League now.'
The Englishman, who scored his 24th goal of the season in Celtic's 3-0 win over Rangers, added: 'I am happy playing for Celtic and yesterday just underlined that.
'The crowd, the atmosphere, the feeling when you score at Celtic Park - I think it is amazing.'
Hooper backed manager Neil Lennon's riposte to critics who say they fall down on the big occasion.
'A lot of people have said we can't handle big games, but I think we dominated the game and kept the ball and I don't think Rangers had many chances at all,' Hooper said.
Meanwhile, Charlie Mulgrew enjoyed a night to remember after being named Celtic's player of the year after heading the opening goal against Rangers.
The defender, who has scored eight goals this season, also won the players' player of the year prize at the club's annual awards night.
Winger James Forrest collected the young player award and Dylan McGeouch won the goal of the season trophy for his solo effort on his debut against St Mirren at Parkhead.

Hooper likes it too much here, let's face it.
He wont go to Southampton.

I'd rather Jay Rodriguez anyway, we don't need another short striker.
We're in for Matt Jarvis according to Fourth_Official

You're manager is desperate for Hooper though.

If he isn't interested then there's equally capable targets elsewhere, no use crying over spilt milk.Henrik's Tongue wrote:Jordi wrote:I'd rather Jay Rodriguez anyway, we don't need another short striker.

Also, why compare Hooper to Jarvis? The latter is a winger..

Re: Summer Transfers Thread 2012
I trust Lenny and John Park (unless Liverpool snatch him) to do what is best for the club this summer, and I'll trust them if they sell Hooper. Hopefully we get rid of Ki for at least 5 mill. Great player but not suited to breaking down deep defensive lines against SPL minnows - wish we'd sold him at the start of the season and we'd have got nearly 10. If McGeouch is going to get a chance ki has to go considering we already have Wanyama, Ledley, Kayal, Brown and Commons. I don't see Ibrahim making it here but hopefully Twardzik can get some games too.

Hooper is good....I would rather have him than the likes of Rodriguez or Sharp.
In the Premier League though...think I would go for Lambert.

Ahmed Hegazy is expected to finally sign for #Fiorentina in the next few hours, according to #Ismaily's spokesman.
Ahmed El Shenawy will travel to Spain when his visa arrives. Transfer to #RealBetis almost certain now, according to his agent.

Likely Rumour mill has Arsenal with a bid for Jan Vertonghen (Probably one of his preferred choices, personally would rather see City, Kompany + Vertonghen )

Hooper was amazing when he played for us, we made him! Adkins loved him when he played for Scunny so he would love to manage him again.

Yeah, just a couple of ins and outs really. Think just keeping this squad stable should be the main goal for now.
I think the only position that definitely needs improving without selling a player in that position first is centre back. The cover for Kompany and Lescott isn't good enough. Maybe also a decent wide player to give another dimension.
Tevez should leave. John Guidetti will come back from loan and probably get a fair few games though. Whether that is enough to cover his loss remains to be seen.
I didn't know he was a City player, I thought he belonged to Feyenoord.
Brilliant player you've got there, he's been amazing this season.

can people stop using the greater than symbol when signifying moves it makes it seem like your stating the player is better than the club.
