I for one have always found Danny Murphy to be a better player and play maker than his reputation suggests. I wouldn't necessarily say he has an abundance of untapped potential, but he has certainly been a victim for the tactics of his time. Pirlo and Scholes suffered through some of the same, but had the ability and talent to play in more roles than one, something I believe Murphy lacked/lacks.
