Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
I don't like the comparisons between Dalglish and what happened with Fergie back then, how old was he back then? 40's? Dalglish is like 61 now, he isn't gonna be able to build a team over 10 years like Fergie did..

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
People just have short memories. We've seen how Dalglish can get the team playing. The 2nd half of last season we were brilliant, the best team in the League. The first half of this season, we were playing brilliant football home and away, but just kept missing chances/hitting the post/coming up against wonder saves in the dying moments.
It's only since the new year that we've actually been dire performance-wise, as well as results-wise. I think the squad are really, really low on confidence at the moment and they are obviously missing Lucas and Agger too.
Let's not forget that we've won the Carling Cup, and are in the Semi Final for the FA Cup. We've got a place in next year's Europa League. The Premier League is already a write off this season, which is why there's not much point in paying any attention to it for now.
It's easy to put the blame on Kenny, or the signings, but just don't forget that we were actually good in the first half of the season. If Kenny can get us playing like that again, but with more lethalness in front of goal, we'd be sorted.

I thought we were gonna get fourth this year.
Best chance this season too, Arsenal and Chelsea had periods where they were dire, yet somehow we always seem to fuck up more.

Go in your bathroom tonight and stare at the mirror. Whisper 'Rafa Benitez' 3 times clip your heels together.
This will summon Rafa and together you can plot Kenny's downfall.

Why didn't we sign Cisse? He was such a sensible signing, he can fit into any team and doesn't require a whole fucking squad being built around him. We're here gambling on shit players.

Best team in the league is a bit much, but we were playing the best football we had played in two or so years.

Agreed. I'm pretty sure 99% of football fans knew the guy was built for the Premier League.Cadbury wrote:Why didn't we sign Cisse? He was such a sensible signing, he can fit into any team and doesn't require a whole fucking squad being built around him. We're here gambling on shit players.

Quite honestly though Scott, his signings, for those prices have been embarrassing. Look at the price of Cisse, look at the price of Carroll, look at the prices of Ben Arfa/Cabaye, then Henderson/Downing.

I kinda want Rafa to come back. Imagine if he actually had backing from the owners in terms of finances for the first time in his career.
Having said that, I don't want Kenny sacked. If it is to happen, then I want Kenny to resign on his own terms.

This is liverpool and we should always aim to do as good as possible. Just because we did good in the carling cup does not excuse how shit we are in the league.
