If Gerrard doesn't like it, then he can always refuse to play. Regardless of wearing the armband, every player on that pitch wearing the England shirt should show passion and leadership.

A lot of people see it as experience and that the person with the most experience should be captain. It is a fair argument, and I agree to some degree.

Agreed, if we cared then the players might. But then it goes the other way, if the players starting caring more then fans will care again.

Scott Parker is the right choice for me, hardly injured, shows passion and will get the rest of the team going.

Actually, for some players it can give them that bit extra and make them perform better. While for others it might do the opposite.

I still think every player should be a leader, not just one of them.
