Wonderful player sadly misused by Wenger. Hopefully he can get his career back on track and move to a club where his talents will actually be appreciated.

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
He had some great matches for Arsenal, and the one i remember best was the 5-0 victory over Porto, as i was stuck in a hotel room in Norway with flu on a skiing trip and couldn't go out. Was just me, the tiny tv and Arsenal's need for a victory after the ref caused them a stupid loss in Portugal.
He didn't score in that match but he more or less was the creator of 4 goals, 3 for Bendtner (the last one a penalty that Arshavin should have taken but let him have) and 1 for Eboue. Before the match Arshavin had said that Bendtner was saving his goals for the next match, he wasn't wrong.
Think he will do great with Zenit again, they have a much better team than when he left, and can he find that form they'll be even better.

I'm very happy for him to have finally escaped. I remember when he single handedly destroyed Liverpool's defence, only to be let down by the retards behind them - he should have handed in a transfer request the next day. Even defeating Barcelona single handedly wasn't enough to get him a start in the return leg, another superb decision by M. Wenger.

That was a fucking disgrace, booing him onto the pitch and then blaming him when that overrated prick gets shown up for exactly what he is.

What's the news on Gibbs? I got told he had picked up a knock during training and this morning I saw Darren tweeting Gibbs was out for the game again. How long is he out for, anyone know?
Dude should be sold, though. As much talent as he has, he isn't going to progress at all with these injuries. You could argue there was a similar problem with RVP (though, not as bad as Gibbs), but RVP had exceptional talent to counter that. Arsenal cannot rely upon him and it only keeps Wenger from buying a proper left back, as it would otherwise "halt" Gibbs development.
We could do with a better version of Santos. In other words a wingback with real attacking qualities, something Santos has, and atleast decent defensive qualities, something Santos doesn't have.

Certainly comes to mind, but he's bound to Barca, as the story goes.
Does anyone on this forum follow Lique 1? I hardly see any Lique 1 match. I want to hear someone's opinion of Trémoulinas, left wingback of Bourdeaux.

I do, he's been poor in the first half of this season (defensively), got better since the season started again in France but right now I wouldn't want to take him, there are better in France, Cissokho (poor defensively though), M'Bengué (inexperienced) or Theophile-Catherine (hardly attacks). The one I'd love is Bedimo from HSC Montpellier, excellent defensively but also great attacking-wise, good crosser. Would be pretty cheap too, hope we sign him in the summer window.JK wrote:Gegilworld93 wrote:

It's true, he scored four fucking goals against Liverpool at Klanfield, this when they were ranked No. 1 in Europe. He was the only Arsenal goalscorer the next season as well, when Liverpool were ranked 2nd in Europe. And yes, against Barcelona, he came on when Arsenal were 1-0 down, terrorised the Barcelona defence and turned the game around.

Sarmz, please don't reply to them.
I don't rate Cissokho. He's overrated. I don't follow the other ones you named.
I'm not to keen on players from Montpellier, though. They seem to be on a purple patch at the moment, but we'll see what the rest of the season brings. They're stunting right now. Weren't they in Lique 2 two seasons ago? Kudos to them, but I wonder how they'll do next season, whether they'll keep up with these results or fall back to mid-table. Obviously, we can't wait that long, though.
There have been rumours we're after Giroud from Montpellier aswell. Still a gamble.

How about his lack of effort being disrespectful for my eyesight?

Nah they're not really on a purple patch, similar to Gladbach really. Anyway, Bedimo is a fantastic player in my opinion, starting LB for Cameroon so he knows Song and he'd really fit to Arsenal.JK wrote:Sarmz, please don't reply to them.Gegilworld93 wrote:Just show some respect crump.

Ah, okay. Interesting stuff. Wonder how long Song will be here for, though. If I recall right, he's going to enter the last year of his contract aswell next year and there hasn't been any news on him. He doesn't look very interested the last few games, too.

Also read in the same article that Bale is an Arsenal fan. No idea if that's 100% true though, insane if it is and that Wenger did indeed turn down Parker before he came to us overruling his main scout bloke Rowley.

should have used his left foot to cross it in then it would most likely have been a great assist. Still a fantastic run, not sure if he's even faster than Theo

Criticising Arshavin for that is like criticising Messi for being a shit goalkeeper, the difference is that Guardiola would never play Messi in goals, that's probably why he's achieved more in the last 4 seasons than Wenger has in his entire life.
There are flaws in his game in that he's not an entirely complete footballer, he can't tackle particularly well, he doesn't have a huge amount of stamina, and he's never going to make a lot of interceptions, he's not going to track back, but that's not his fault. Arshavin is not a defensive midfielder, he's not a left sided midfielder, and he's not a full back, he is a trequartista, that is how he has played for his entire career. He should never be in a situation where he is forced to defend against a marauding wing back like Alves, it's ridiculous.
He did remarkably well to have such an impact on the game when he was played out of position, nitpicking that he didn't defend particularly well is ridiculously harsh on him, but that's how Wenger and to a certain extent the Arsenal fans have always treated him. Booing him onto the pitch, disgraceful.
