So what? They don't own the players, they are not slaves. If you've got a few weeks off from your job does your employer or his customers have the right to bitch about you taking them?Mal wrote:ResurrectionRooney wrote:

The club's pay the players wages. They have every right to be selfish.
By taking them away from their home countries for far less than market value.BladeGunner wrote:ResurrectionRooney wrote:

I don't have a problem with them having their tournament in the middle of the club season, but if they want to reorganise the structure then they should be the ones who pay, not the clubs. And how on earth do European clubs exploit their players? By giving them the opportunity to use their state of the art facilities in order to help them develop into better players? Yeah, definite exploitation.

I sometimes think you don't understand football. The player has a contract, the ACON does not count as a holiday. The club agrees with the national team that they will let them go. And yes they actually do own the players.

Well get that thought out of your silly head right now. The player has a contract in which it is is stipulated that he may leave his club to play international football on dates set out by FIFA. The club agrees fuck all with the national team, unless the national team and player are courteous to agree to the player staying a few extra days. They don't own the players, they own their registrations, massive massive difference.

If Rooney wanted to leave Manchester United right now to sign for Real Madrid, could he without the permission of Manchester United? Just registration or whatever, they own him.

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
I still wouldn't say they're exploited. If they remain in Africa for the entire duration of their career then it's highly unlikely that they'll become any good and of much worth. They only become worth gargantuan amounts if they go to a European club where they are disciplined and trained properly. Not to mention that when players like Drogba become global superstars in Europe and return to their home nations, they probably provide the country with more income than a fairer transfer would have provided.

There's a world of difference between owning him and having a contractual agreement with him that prevents him from being employed by another company.

What a delusional fuck.
Did he forget they won with a shit ton of luck thanks to Frimpong getting red.. Jenkinson being shit, Koscielny injured early in the 1st half and taken off, and Arshavin playing which = shit.
Then the goals.. were just.. garbage flukes.
If anything.. their squad has gotten worse since that match.. while ours has improved.

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
Arsenal need to sell arshavin, he is a great player at the wrong club playing the wrong role imo, arsenal should focus him less on his dribbling ability, and more on his brilliant technical ability, he used to be such a great player, i saw a couple of games of him in the russian league, his passing was supreme.

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
I thought dribbling would of come under technical ability
Its more like its the wrong player at a great club, how can a player be so (allegedly) great in the middle but so so poor out wide? I'm not sure how the position he plays in stops him from controlling a ball properly.

it is clear also that he's a confidence player, and hes not gonna get any confidence any time soon by the looks of things. Shame really, he shows sometimes what a great player he could be. I will never forget that liverpool match where he scored 4.
and by technical ability i meant like his technique

No fear at all. Ibra's nose is inferior to Koscielny's nose, we will therefore win

I'm not sure about the game, I don't feel confident at all.
Will be good to see Rvp ripping Thiago Silva a new anus though.

I dont feel confident at all but if Koscielny is in top form and we play Arteta and Song in midfield I don't think we'll get smashed.

AC Milan have been looking fairly ordinary in recent weeks, from what I have seen.

To be honest, we have nothing to lose and everything to gain at this point. Especially with Manchester City and United out of the CL.
As long as we don't play like scared children.. and act like the Arsenal that use to strike fear into the opposition, mmmmmm.. gon b good.
