One thing we definitely need though is a midfielder who's willing to get ahead of Van Persie. Robin is so great as a number 10, it'll be good if someone supported him every once in a while.

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
Walcott is only decent against bigger opposition because he makes their whole back 4 drop a few yards further back to make it harder to exploit space behind. Against smaller opposition we should go with the front 3 Kyro posted or have Benayoun or Rosicky out on the left. We need more players who can play passes through small gaps and are willing to get in the box.

It's such a shame that Ivory Coast will go all the way to the final and knowing Wenger, when Gervinho returns he'll rest him for 2 solid games then on the 3rd bring him on Arshavin when we're 1-0 down, then bring Gervinho on when we're 2-0 down

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
Spot on, Rosicky used to do that before he started getting injuries, but don't see anyone doing the job anymore. It just pisses me off that in the United game when it was 1-1 every attack they had, they had at least 3 players in the box. When it was us, we only had RvP and Ramsey lurking around the half-way line.Mal wrote:Walcott is only decent against bigger opposition because he makes their whole back 4 drop a few yards further back to make it harder to exploit space behind. "One thing we definitely need though is a midfielder who's willing to get ahead of Van Persie" - Cesc was perfect at that and was very good attack wise for a midfielder but obviously it will be very hard to get a player of Cesc's quality again, best we could hope for would be someone like Gotze, Kaka etc but I doubt any of those players would come to us.

Ramsey keeps making these forward runs except he can't shoot. Just like against Bolton last night.

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
The thing with Ramsey is that he's nearly always off balance when he's running and has no control over the ball which results into his poor shooting and passes sometimes. It's like he's knackered once he gets in the final third.

He makes the most stupid passes when he could just play it simply across the ground.

That's probably because he is knackered. Wenger needs to drop him for a few games and play Rosicky instead, Ramsey obviously needs a rest.
