Did Chelsea buy their success? Empty Did Chelsea buy their success?

Post by Guest Sun Apr 03, 2011 6:06 am

Before Chelsea were taken over, they were usually nothing more than a top 6 team and hardly ever even came close to winning the Premier League.

Then Roman came along and threw his big bucks around, which brought them instant success, and thus ruining the game in a way. He turned English football into a billionaires' play-thing. Other clubs are now forced to find rich owners, just to try and compete. Chelsea started it all.

Which begs the question. Where would Chelsea be now, if Roman never came along?

    Discuss.

Just showing Luke how annoying his WUM threads are.

Whilst also making a valid point, and topic for discussion.

There is not much to debate here. Obviously yes. Laughing

It's arguable they did ruin football too while doing it, but football was already heading down that path, Chelsea just spearheaded it.

Fair enough, but you blatantly just made this thread to have yet another argument with him. Laughing

    Yes. There's no denying it.

Man United have bought success, Barcelona to an extent, Real Madrid also.

Wenger didn't need rich owners to help win him the League though.

    LOL.

You wanna post pictures of you kissing girls, videos of you doing keepy-ups and pictures of you drinking fosters with your mates to prove yourself as a man?

Lol, if you think being a Teacher is something to be proud of then, good for you. It's one of the easiest professions to get into tbh. And one of the laziest jobs, what with all those school holidays.

Plus you're around kids ... there is a word for people who like being around kids ... not gonna say it 'cause you'll only get me banned, but trust me. Not manly at all.

    Well..

He did spend 10.5m on Reyes, 3m on RvP, 1.5 on Lehmann, and 0.25m on Clichy, in 2003, equalling 15.25m the year they won the league.

Not a huge amount, but back then prices weren't as inflated, and the price is still low, but it shows investment is needed to gain success.

Love to see you try it, you wouldn't last a week. Don't work 9 - 3.30 lad. More like 8 - 8. Not to mention planning lessons, reports, marking, differentiating lessons due to ability (that means setting out different work for the level of each child) as well as communicating with parents, arranging trips, meeting with staff at the school, planning, then planning for the next term.

And remember, in the middle of August, while you're in the world of work (unless Daddy is still paying your way), I'll be out enjoying a holiday in the sun somehwere. Can't complain about that. Also, don't forget, it's quite well paid.

Call me a paedo all you like, shows your maturity level. Which, judging by the current debate you started, doesn't really make you much of a 'man'.

Now run along little boy, get off Daddy's computer and get your crayons together for school on Monday morning.
