Tbh, if I could take a player at United, he'd be right up there on my list, and I'm talking about realistic players, not Ronaldo, Messi etc.

It's not just about 11 goals......Bale is putting in performances week in week out that are eclipsing that of players people consider World Class.

No winger is playing better than him,...not even Messi.

So? That's a fantastic stat, but Bale has been fantastic too. You've got to put it in context......I'd rip your hand off for a Ferrari but if someone else offers a Lamborghini it's not so straight forward.

Jamie wrote:Lux in going overboard shocker.

Not at all. I'm not just saying this after one game.....if I had £1 for every time someone said that to me just about Gareth Bale I'd be a millionaire. How is it that everytime I describe Bale and compare him fairly to all other players in the world, I'm going overboard?

If he does great in one game, fine......if he keeps doing it game after game then for me you guys are just lagging behind. Does he have to keep playing world class football for 5 years before he is even recognised as more than a "good player" as someone in this thread put it.

    It's a joke

You don't have to be as good as Messi to be world class.

Not that Bale isn't deserving such praise.....if it was just based on this season then how can you separate Bale from Messi? If we're going to talk about the past then there is obviously only one winner......but in this case I'm adamant that Bale is not having some lucky streak...he's only going to get better for sure.

I fully agree with that, but Messi is above world class.

It's a shame that Bale has little chance of proving himself at International level on the biggest stages.

I under-stand you may hate Spurs and their players like me as an Arsenal fan. But credit where credit is due Bale was quite frankly BRILLIANT last season you cannot refute that. I think he is world class because I dont think theres a player in the world that can play left midfeild better than him.

I don't like Tottenham, but I will recognize talent when its their regardless of the team. Gareth Bale was good last season, but he was not the best left sided player by any means. Florent Malouda was a lot better than Bale all season long. When healthy, Arjen Robben was infinitely better than Bale also. Bale and world class should NOT be used in the same sentence because he is not world class.

As I have said many times, too many people throw around the classification of world class. Bale is a good player and nothing more.

In terms of players in the world that are better than him on the left side:

Cristiano Ronaldo, Robben, Ribery (either footed), Malouda, and when healthy, albeit a rarity, I would take Vicente over Bale also. Juan Manuel Mata is a lot better than Bale also.

Those are just a few that are better than Bale
    .

Exactly. Hes isnt world class yet. He wouldnt walk into a lot of teams. Hes good and getting better but hes nowhere near the likes of Robben, Ronaldo & Malouda. World class is thrown around too much and Bale isnt there yet[/quote]

He is playing better than Malouda, Ribery and co. Donno why you even braught Robben into this he's injured is he not ?

I'm not talking about a singular moment. I am talking about period. Maybe you like to rate players based on single games or form at the moment, but I look at players in the overall scope because that is what matters and Gareth Bale is not even in the same league as Robben, Cristiano, Ribery, Malouda or anyone I have mentioned.

You can keep discussing this topic, but I see no point in beating a dead horse.

Like I said, right now in this moment in time theres not really a left sided player in the world thats playing better than Bale.

    Malouda is close on form.

Maybe you like rate players by past and current form on a football pitch, but for me its about the present.

Bale has been brilliant during the end of last season and the start of the current season.

I know you've got to look closely but either it's just me eating a lot of carrots and having good eye sight....or it's not that hard to see that Messi has only played 1 game in his whole career and has 2 goals, compared to the 135 games Bale has played.

Just shows how good of a player he is. Maicon is regarded by many as one of, if not the best right back in the world and its not like Tottenham were playing good but he scores not 1, not 2, but 3 esquisite goals past arguably the best defensive team in the world.

Pretty much all his own work aswell.
