That's exactly why you wont be considered title contenders until this is fixed.Mr Leiva wrote:Steadman wrote:You need to start finishing off the 'easier' teams then. Plus you have to take into account that Liverpool will more than likely have more games against the relegation candidates and therefore will have just as many tough games at the end of the season as the rest of the top 6.
For all the years I have watched Liverpool, we always struggle against the sides we should beat on paper.
We nearly cracked it in 2008/09.

We would have been second now, if we won them three home games when we were 1-0 up.

Tbh, any other day and we'd have won on Saturday. A bit of bad luck, good defending and some quality saves prevented us from getting the win. It was just one of those off days in front of goal.
We created a fuckload of chances, the game was not comparable to any of those where we looked genuinely shit. It was disappointing, but it's not got me worried.

Absolutely nothing to worry about, you'll bounce back, get the goals, get the wins and you'll be challenging for fourth place in no time. Lots of football is yet to be played.

Yes cant see it.
But guess who was their manager., when they beat Barcelona in the Champions League.
Kenny Dalglish had to count on players who where past their best, he brought in Ian Rush and John Barnes who were at the end of their careers and never got the cash that Keegan had to spend. And when at Newcastle in the first season, Alan shearer missed most of the season through injury, and Les Ferdinand and Peter Beardsley had been sold. John Barnes had to play upfront because of the Shearer injury and the lack of strikers.

Suarez has had plenty of 'those days' so far this season.

You're the one saying you've not had problems scoring this season. Not being funny but your best striker hasn't been clinical enough, Carroll just looks hopeless most of the time.
Maybe Dalglish needs to start Bellamy a bit more, hasn't been given much of a chance yet.

When you said Liverpool have not had a lot of 'those days' where they've not been scoring chances created. When in fact they have.

We've not had a lot of days like Saturday. The majority of times we've failed to get a result recently was because we were shit, not because everything we threw at the goal was turned away.
And why is the focus on us not finishing well? Are we forgetting that Suarez could have had at least two had it not been for some world class keeping?

He chose to sell key players like Ginola, Ferdinand and Asprilla and replaced them with aging players like Barnes, Rush etc. It was not really the most wise thing to do. His decision to sell Ginola was purely down to him not liking Ginola, Newcastle fans wanted him to stay as they saw his undeniable talent, and then had to watch Ginola win Player of the Year awards with Tottenham.Alan wrote:Steadman wrote:

Dalglish joins race for £2m 14-year-old
Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish is ready to outbid Chelsea for Seyi Ojo – the 14-year-old recently linked with a £2million move to the Blues.
Midfielder Ojo, who is playing well above his age-group level for MK Dons and England, has been tipped to sign for Chelsea.
However, Liverpool are desperate to nab him as part of a push to recruit the best domestic talent around, and they are further down the line with negotiations than their rivals, according to top sources.
Liverpool will offer more money up front than Chelsea have done and hope they can convince the player he has a better chance of progress with them.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Don't like to see Gerrard sitting so deep, I like my Gerrard driving into the box and shooting from the the edge..
Charlie Adam is so immobile - I see so many opportunities for him to make a run into space but he never takes it, always looks to receive the sideways pass...same goes for a lot of other players, some nice safe passing options into space and they lump it up-field
Need to bring Aqualani back, desperately need a Creative midfielder, Suarez is forced to do it all on his own.
Also a finisher in front of Suarez would be nice.....Torres

Gerrard will probably play further forward in the next game. He was only playing there against Norwich as cover for Lucas.

You were a very small child back then so why don't you write "I read" or "I saw a TV Program which showed" before everything you say on this subject. Alan was old enough to see what was going on.Steadman wrote:He chose to sell key players like Ginola, Ferdinand and Asprilla and replaced them with aging players like Barnes, Rush etc. It was not really the most wise thing to do. Why would I need to write that while discussing things that happened while I was young? Everyone can see my age, they would obviously put two and two together and work out I have either read about it or heard about it in some way by their common sense.
Why does it matter if Alan is older than me? Everything I said in my post is common knowledge to Newcastle fans and anyone who has had the time to look back at previous Premier League seasons.
