I'm watching a replay of yesterday's debate and one of the hosts of the debate made an uncalled comment. Look at Ron's face.

Re: Republican Nominees
Ron was singled out in attacks in yesterday's debate. At one point Ron told the host "don't interrupt me".
Even though he is in 3rd place, he still barely gets time to respond to questions and there is a clear bias.

I think he said that to the Santorum fellow. I might be wrong though.

No he said it to the person asking the question. I think he is the same person who called him a liar earlier in the debate, so he was pissed at him.

I voted for Gay Johnson on the poll. Then I found out his name was Gary and was disappointed.

Re: Republican Nominees
I'm not voting in the primaries. I'll vote in the general election. But I'm more supportive of Ron Paul out of all the Republican candidates based on his economic and foreign policies. Huntsman is probably second in my opinion (need to read up more about him).
Once a Republican candidate is chosen and the general debates start, I'll have a better understanding on who to vote for. I haven't been happy with Obama in his term. I voted for him in 2008. But if there is no better candidate going against him, I'll vote for him again. I thought about not voting at all in that case, but it's sort of a duty to vote.

It isn't a duty, but you can't really complain if you don't vote.
I prefer Huntsman to Paul.

Re: Republican Nominees
Looking from an outsiders perspective Paul does seem to have some good policies.
And I know what you mean about not voting. After the last election here I know I'm definitely not voting again for a while.

I personally think it's a duty of a member of a democratic State. If less and less people vote, we aren't in theory having a government that represents the majority of its constituents. The average voter turnout in the USA is around 50%.

The debate was at 9am today, not 9pm like I thought. That's another one I missed.
The New Hampshire primary is on Jan 10.

Re: Republican Nominees
NH primary today. Romney is expected to easily win this. But the battle lies in 2nd place and 4th place...
According to poll surveys, Rep. Ron Paul of Texas and former Utah governor and former U.S. ambassador to China, Jon Huntsman, are battling for second place, with former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania and former House Speaker, Newt Gingrich, in a dead heat for fourth place, and Texas Gov. Rick Perry in a distant sixth place.
----------
Glad to see Huntsman do better than in Iowa.

Don't really pay attention to American politics but stumbled across one of Ron Pauls videos yesterday and admired what he was saying about foreign occupation and how America needs to "mind it's own business"

I'm not sure about the format in this particular state. Each state and party has it's own format. It's a bit complicated.
But primaries are elections to determine who will be the sole representative of the party at the general election. Each state holds elections and delegates are assigned to each candidate. After all the states hold their primaries, whoever has the most delegates wins the candidacy and goes against Barack Obama.
Here is a nice infographic...

Romney says the US will have a military so overwhelmingly powerful that no-one would ever think of challenging it. I'm sure there are better things that money could be spent on.

Why are other candidates from the party in office not allowed to challenge the president (when he still has an extra term possible)?

Or tax cuts, it always seems strange to me that those on the right wing are opposed to high taxes and opposed to high public spending, but place huge importance on the military.

Having a defense budget larger than the next ten countries combined obviously won't cut it...
