If he's outperforming them on the pitch I don't see why he shouldn't play instead of them. Teams should be based on who's playing the best at the moment, not on past reputation.
I can see why people don't rate Barry, but if he plays tonight anything like he has been for City you'll also see why I'm saying this.

If it's like Crawley's programme then everything has to be done by Sunday/Monday for a Friday/Saturday game. Transfer deadline was Wednesday (after Sunday/Monday) so it wouldn't have been able to be changed in time. As for Downing I have not got a clue!
