We'll qualify for the Euros, people will get excited, we'll fuck it up, then Capello will fuck off.

I dunno why, but I think Rooney would be a good captain, although Capello said that he doesn't like having forwards as captains
Rooney is definitively captain material for me, he's been through struggles and what not but you know out of all the guys on the pitch if you need a goal he's the guy you'd turn to. He's matured alot over the years and through all the hardships that he brought upon himself.

Again you are correct just saying I would prefer to do it while winning something. Don't think he will ever win anything with England ( that a whole other disscusion) so goal scoring record won't matter as much IMO.Danny wrote:Can only beat what's in front of you.
And if Rooney did get 50 England goals, I doubt he'd think "it's a shame I only scored against shit countries".

Scoring goals in a shitter team is arguably a better achievement individually.HIBBIES_07 wrote:Again you are correct just saying I would prefer to do it while winning something. Re: Bulgaria 0-3 England
England are shit because San Marino scored on them after 8.3 seconds.
They are going to carry that with them until either the end of time or when someone beats that record but that record will be very hard to be beat.

Well 5 of them were against Luxembourg, so lets discount them. Wales are crap, and he got a lot against them. Spain used to be crap, Easy Germany, Nothern Ireland, Scotland were pretty shit, USA etc.

Re: Bulgaria 0-3 England
You have to look at the scorelines as well, because when your team is smashing someone it's not so hard to score v them, like you look at Mexico and think, good team, but then you see it was 8-0 and think.. oh.
I'm sure if England of today beat Mexico 8-0 Rooney would score one.

What about beating Mexico 8-0?
Sir Bobby made his England debut the last time Wales did something of note.

England play a lot more shit countries these days, it's not surprise that a modern striker will have a lot more of his goals against shit countries, it doesn't make him worse.
