While we're on the topic of fullbacks being coverted to wingers, I think Bale would be better as an attacking left back.
you brought him up in a thread about Liverpool v. Bolton

That's because they bought half of the ESPN Premier League rights last year. The only reason people haven't noticed is due to them spreading it out to Monday's and Saturday Lunchtimes.

This is good for us. When you take Chaill out of Bolton, their defence turns to shit.

Wouldn't it be better to put your big target man on someone that's shorter than him and not as aerially dominant?xPeterLFC95 wrote:Boyata is no slouch.Cadbury wrote:This is good for us. When you take Chaill out of Bolton, their defence turns to shit.

Why would we do that? Zat Knight is huge.
EDIT: Yes. We can't hoof it either, he'll keep clearing it.

Agree with this.
Johnson needs to be playing further up the field where he would be best suited.
Rubbish Dave. This has been said for years and no manager has done it.
That's because nobody has had the bottle to try it. He's proven he has the the attacking ability, so I don't see why he wouldn't succeed playing in a more attacking position. I don't see what he offers at right back other than costing us a shit load of goals through the season.
He doesn't cost us a 'shitload of goals' at right-back.
And if he really was that bad at defending, I'm pretty sure the likes of Mourinho, Benitez, Capello etc. would have noticed and tried to see if he would work further up field. He hasn't been tried there/hasn't remained there, which suggests he might be a damn sight better at RB than further up.
Benitez for a start is one of the best coaches in the world defensively, and he never had a problem playing Johnson there. Which says a lot for the ability of someone who can't defend.
To Scott: what's your expert prediction for the game?

Bolton-the highest foul count in the Premier League, with Suarez, who was fouled the most times in the opening weekend. Surely that equates to a lot of freekicks for us?

Zat Knight is a donkey of the highest level He won't be able to handle Carroll and that's the best thing about us not having to play Cahill. Coyle would get him to stay tight on Carroll like Vermaelen last week.

Assists from Enrique and Downing, Adam playing a crucial part and that would be utopia for me.
