You know at the start of the first series they showed Rick walking up to a gas station and stuff? and the start of this series they had Shane running away from zombies with a gun bag...Does anyone know what they are about?

- Was this in the first series? Rick and some of the group went back for the bag mainly due to the bag containing walkie-talkies. This was so he could keep in touch with Morgan and his son (the two people Rick met as he escaped the hospital).

No. Like the very start before he wakes up there is a clip of him driving down the road in his police car and he gets out for fuel at a gas station and shoots that girl who picks up the teddy bear.
And this bit at the start of season two when shane is running away.

Yes, that's the bag that Rick drops in the middle of the city which he goes back for. It contains the walkie-talkies. It probably just contains guns and ammo now, I wouldn't read too much into it.
