I'm optimistic we are nearly there as the press is all over this now when clearly we have been in discussions for a while and not a sniff in the press (Stephen Martin mentioned in July that we were negotiating with a CB in Copa America..think most thought it was Godin but actually it seems to be Coates and Stephen confirmed that today)

Would have thought so with Soto leaving. Still think City have the ball in their court though. They have champions league football and bags of cash to offer, everything a player wants really.

7m dollars? That's around 4.7-5 million pounds. Bargain, compared to the 15m being quoted for Cahill.

Got a good feeling about the Bolton game. City attacked most of the game and left a lot of gaps; we won't make the same mistake.

And I cannot wait to play United...De Gea is actually fucking terrible at jumping and catching balls in the air; he looks scared. Kenny will be telling Carroll to stay in the box and put pressure on the 'keeper.

Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt insists that he is not interested in a move to Inter Milan, despite reports suggesting that he was mulling over a move to Italy.

Kuyt's agent Rob Jansen was quoted this weekend as saying his client was the subject of a bid from Inter, who are offloading Samuel Eto'o to Anzhi, and that he would be considering his future.However, the Dutch international has paid little attention to the reports, and says he is happy where he is.

"As far as I know there is nothing true about this," Kuyt told Voetbal International. "I am very happy at Liverpool. I didn't extend my contract for two years three months ago for nothing. You don't do that if you have the intention to go away quickly."

Kuyt, 31, started Saturday's 2-0 win at Arsenal, but was on the bench for the opening day draw against Sunderland and accepts his role as a squad player. "Maybe people think that I want to leave. But it doesn't work like that for me," he continued. "Liverpool has a very big squad and therefore you could sometimes be on the bench.

"It's my intention to stay here, though you know nothing is certain. In football things can be different tomorrow."

Everything I said is true. It's ridiculously arrogant and self-entitled to assume that a player will sign for City because of the money when they have finished above you two years in a row, won a trophy last year, and play in the Champions League. It's also true about your centre backs. Carragher's knackered, Agger's a crock, Skrtel's the one and he's shit.

That's not a great example, one of your central defenders should have been sent off in that game. We did beat you twice with those central defenders you have though.
