He's not good enough, he's 24 and I'd prefer to have Ramsey start over him.
Fingers crossed we sign Jagielka, M'Vila and Hazard and we'll be back
Zarate is a right forward so he would more likely play on the right but he can play CAM. That's why.
There are so many better options
I'd rather have Walcott up front._Hazard_Gervinho_
_Walcott_Van Persie_
Walcott to do all the work and Van Persie to finish it
And Hazard to whip them in and score outside the box
But you gotta admit Zarate would probably be much better than Arshavin in work rate.
Yeah Hazard would be much better.

We must win tomorrow and we'll be back

Tom Cleverley is only 5 months younger than Theo Walcott but he's classed as a youngster but most pundits expect Theo to be the finished article.

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
That's only because Walcott has been around for years, Rooney at 21 had MASSIVE expectations because he's shown his quality before, it's like Walcott's gone backwards as a player, but I still think he's got something in him to play on the last man get in and finish.
Also, Chambo.
Also, Chambo.

A more direct comparison would be to compare two wingers, Lionel Messi for example, was 3 months younger than Walcott is now two years ago, and everyone expected him to be the finished article. As it happened he went on to score 38 goals and make 18 assists. 4 years ago Cristiano Ronaldo was 11 months younger than Walcott is now, and was expected to be the finished article. He went on to score 23 goals and make a similar amount of goals, the next year he scored over 40 goals and won the Ballon d'Or.
Your move, Theo.

It's true about Theo being around for ages, but that doesn't make him older. Walcott hasn't reached his expectations because he's playing out of position to develop his strength and dribbling (not that it's working). Walcott will become a striker. Arsene Wenger just thinks it's cool to let players develop when we have important fucking games to play.
Like Bendtner on the wing.

No one's expecting that from Theo though. He's not even near the class of those two players.

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
Yeah but it's hard to compare someone who's made 3 professional games with us to someone who has played 177 games for Arsenal, I'm a firm believer that Walcott will come good as a striker if Wenger gives him the opportunity.Mal wrote:kyro7 wrote:That's only because Walcott has been around for years, Rooney at 21 had MASSIVE expectations because he's shown his quality before, it's like Walcott's gone backwards as a player, but I still think he's got something in him to play on the last man get in and finish.
