They play poorly and defeat West Brom, we play poorly and win the Premier League. I think I know who is more scared.
We played poorly and beat Arsenal.Laurencio wrote:ResurrectionRooney wrote:Laurencio wrote:Chelsea playing poorly and still winning. Scary.

Just saying. They pull off results with pure rubbish performances and are looking to improve their squad with Modric, Mata and Moutinho? Could be a threat this season.

Number 19 here we come.

Reckon Chelsea will win but be a little unconvincing, perhaps down to Hilario's shitness.

For me, it's not that they're a dull team, it's just they've got dull players, well not 'dull players' but it seems, some just don't fit in with Villas-Boas' way of playing. Villas-Boas plays a very attractive game of football in my personal opinion, he just needs his own players to get the best out of his system.
As has been said, Mata and Modric would give them a severe boost and would fit very nicely in with Villas-Boas' style.Cech

Mikel
Ramires---Lampard
Mata--------------Torres------------Modric
kyro7 wrote:I wouldn't play Modric there, I'd have him in the midfield, though they do lack good players to play in the wide areas.
Reckon they could do with another signing as well. Or give Sturridge a go.
Lacks Zhirkov imo, just the player they could use.Marvin wrote:Not to mention the fact that there's no Anelka.

Modric does not play there and will never play there, Dean. He's a deep lying midfielder, he does his damage there.

I don't know what warrants laughing? Are you telling me he's never played on the left for Tottenham, cutting inside? But I agree with you, he would be best from a central position, but who would you drop for Modric? Mikel? Ramires? Lampard?

Modric, Mikel and Ramires in Midfield.
I was quizzing with this too. Whether to drop Lampard or not, but to me, he's still 'vital to Chelsea', in terms of his goals and how they play. He's a big part of their team set up and a large proportion of their goals come from him. That's the problem you have. I came to the decision of playing Modric in a wider position because, I've always seen it as you play your best players and fit them into the team, and I don't think the likes of Kalou/Malouda/Anelka warrant starting over Lampard
