Cunt would have deserved it. Smashed him from behind and gets a free kick, cunt.

Drogba then, kept kicking the ball backwards when Foster wanted to the take the FK. Neutral

Fucking Chelsea. I can just take prode in the fact that if they come up against a team who actually put their chances away then they won't be winning games.

Just saying. They pull off results with pure rubbish performances and are looking to improve their squad with Modric, Mata and Moutinho? Could be a threat this season.

Very good West Brom side, didn't deserve to come away with nothing. We were poor the first half, put our chances away in the end. Not impressed, but we got the result nevertheless.

Didn't sound like the most impressive performance from Chelsea, but they were able to grind out a result, something I thought they'd struggle to do under AVB.

Chelsea really need a few players, just to freshen' it up a bit and get some new faces in, they really lack that spark of creativity and a bit of flair on the wing. I think they'll struggle if they don't buy a couple of players within the next 10 or so days.

Mata and Modric would be fantastic buys.

It's clear that AVB wants them to play some entertaining football, but he just doesn't have the players to do so.

For me, it's not that they're a dull team, it's just they've got dull players, well not 'dull players' but it seems, some just don't fit in with Villas-Boas' way of playing. Villas-Boas plays a very attractive game of football in my personal opinion, he just needs his own players to get the best out of his system.

As has been said, Mata and Modric would give them a severe boost and would fit very nicely in with Villas-Boas' style.

I wouldn't play Modric there, I'd have him in the midfield, though they do lack good players to play in the wide areas.

Reckon they could do with another signing as well. Laughing Or give Sturridge a go.

I was thinking that, Ky. I was puzzling over whether to put Modric in the centre or wide, but for me, it's about playing your best players, so if that means moving Modric wide for Lampard, then so be it. I really wouldn't play the likes of Malouda/Kalou/Anelka over Lampard, hence shifting Modric to a 'wider' position, but the way Villas-Boas plays, the wider player are generally a little more narrower due to his style of attacking full backs, so Mata and Modric coming in from the right and left respectively, would see them in central positions a lot anyway.

If they got another wide, then obviously, Villas-Boas would have a decision to make regarding his central area.

I don't know what warrants laughing? Are you telling me he's never played on the left for Tottenham, cutting inside? But I agree with you, he would be best from a central position, but who would you drop for Modric? Mikel? Ramires? Lampard?

I was quizzing with this too. Whether to drop Lampard or not, but to me, he's still 'vital to Chelsea', in terms of his goals and how they play. He's a big part of their team set up and a large proportion of their goals come from him. That's the problem you have. I came to the decision of playing Modric in a wider position because, I've always seen it as you play your best players and fit them into the team, and I don't think the likes of Kalou/Malouda/Anelka warrant starting over Lampard.
