I think at this point, it is the lack of service. He looked well but was given very little options on the ball, was quickly surrounded and was provided no support because the rest of the squad was just standing around.

Well I can't say I've watched enough Porto to really argue that. I think you'll see a more consistent 4-3-3 under Boas but until you get some world wingers and a creative mid, there isn't really anyway to expect to win forcing a new system to quickly.

And I am sure he knows that he wouldn't get past mid-season as manager if they get off to a terrible start.

Add Modric and Mata (as examples) and I think you will see a more drastic evolution of style
