Not an expert but it doesn't seem like playing for rival clubs matters as much in Italy - Cannavaro, Baggio, Vieri, Ronaldo amongst others have played for rivals.

We could try the waiting game, get him next year on the free but if we're not CL he'd probably choose a different club.

How much cheaper would Scott Dann be?

Birmingham wanted £8m a month or so back. They aren't really in a position to demand that at the moment. If he really wants us, we could get him a lot cheaper. Like Enrique.
