He is(going?) mental.
Apparently it was a translation issue, something to do with the literal translation of a French word into a particular English word (expect) having a slightly different meaning in French.
What's the meaning in french?
I don't buy it, he has lived in England for many years now and I've never heard a translation mistake from him, not that I can remember anyway.
The word is 'espere', it's closer to 'hope' but it's quite common for French people to use expect as the translation.

Shame your season started falling apart in February of that season though. The Bat-Man wrote:When Henry left we had our best season since we won the damn thing, we came so close only to lose out by 4 points.
Let's do it again, except this time win the damn title.

It was escentially the season he proved himself as a certified world class talents and I'm sure either Wilshere or Ramsey will step up to do the same.
All we need is a quality defender, a skilled winger and a striker if he have anything left.

Don't speak french so I'll take your word for it.
I think the sensible thing to do would've been to admit that Cesc is leaving though.

Nicely spotted.
J'espere lui a rester which means I would like to think he stays could be easily expressed incorrectly as I expect him to stay.

He has to go now, would be a massive fuck up if Arsenal kept him.

As Barca have been cunts about it again, I'd bump up the price a bit if I was Arsene.

Arsene should just demand the add ons regardless, I hate how on every player out they put buy backs, and every player in add ons if they do well (Player or team) Demand money now, or add ons even if they are relegated.

I think that he's going to be way beyond demoralised if he stays now. Then as captain the attitude will spread. Cashing in now is best for Arsenal, the fee is just going to drop each year.
I'd also bet a fair few of the Arsenal team don't actually want him to stay after all his posturing.
