You said a few Italian clubs were interested.. did you read that from goal.com? The only official thing i heard about Sagna was a pathetic bid from Bayern ages ago.
A) Wanting to sign a player and being interested are two completely different things. Teams are always interested in players as potential signings, that doesn't mean they HAVE to make a bid to be interested. Hell at Arsenal we are always interested in someone, yet NEVER make bids.
B) I already said where I found the articles, next time use your eyes.
Splashy wrote:Hazard = Possibly
Mata = Probably not because Valencia know a few teams are interested so they will raise their asking price.
Benzema = Would love Wenger to sign him but I doubt Wenger will pay £20mill+ for another striker when we already have RVP, Vela, Chamakh and Bendtner. Walcott also wants to play a more central role next season and Gervinho can also play striker.
Hazard is not a possibility, Valencia can't raise Mata's price since he has a buyout of €25m, and Vela, Bendtner and Chamakh are all shit so that only leaves Van Persie as our out and out striker.
The Bat-Man wrote:You know, Christian Gourcuff should be Wenger's replacement after Wenger retires, fantastic manager, him or Laurent blanc followed by Henry
Gourcuff would be a downgrade. Blanc "might" be okay, but Deschamps would be the best option, unless Lippi decided he wanted to get back into club management.
The Bat-Man wrote:Lads any of you got the interview where he said to expect transfer news next week?
Wenger hopeful of wrapping up signing

LMAO!

Neither are my favorite players, but both are class and would have been "the truth" at Arsenal.

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
Deschamps got Monaco to the Champions' League final, he'd be quality.
But I still think Christian Gourcuff is an amazing manager.
Menez was insane with Nene today, telepathic them two are.

Gourcuff is a good manager, but I haven't seen how he would deal with having a lot of star players on his team. He might be able to do it, but I still favor Didier as our next manager with Henry as his number two if he is retired.
I didn't get to see the full match today, just some hi-lights. I have been at work all day so basically missed all matches today.

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
Wouldn't mind a new manager with Wenger doing financial stuff at the club. Does Henry have a footballing degree or anything ? Maybe in the future he could be a big part of running the club as manager or whatever.

Won't be many star players left at Arsenal soon...so shouldn't be a problem

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
Cesc Fabregas will miss Arsenal's first game of the Premier League season at Newcastle United on Saturday as the club continues to negotiate with Barcelona over his transfer.
The Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger confirmed that the midfielder was "not injured" but that he was not prepared to play him at St James' Park after not featuring in any pre-season games this summer. Wenger left Fabregas out of the squad that flew to Portugal on Friday for yesterday'spre-season friendly against Benfica.
Arsenal had claimed that the Spain World Cup winner had been struggling with a hamstring injury since the end of last season, but the 24-year-old did rejoin training last week. Wenger suggested his omission from the start of the season was down to a lack of match fitness despite the Newcastle game being another week away. Reports in Spain suggested Arsenal turned down £35 million from Barcelona last week.
The Frenchman said: "I don't think Fabregas will be ready to start the season because he has been out for a long time and has had no games. He is just coming back from injury, but he is not injured."
Groce.

What are the chances this mysterious lack of fitness will see him miss the Udinese game?

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
So no Fabregas because of Barcelona's transfer interest, and no Nasri or van Persie due to the Barcelona conspiracy. THey're really killing off the competition early this year.
