Every time Bale doesn't have a good game he's "tired".

Re: Tottenham Hotspur Official Thread
He wasn't bad....he did some good runs and put in some good balls.
The problem is that Defoe and Van Der Vaart are out...and they're the two main goal scorers...and if Bale is putting in balls to just Crouch then that's not going to work all the time.
Quality goal by Pav though...he's a good player but doesn't always get the minutes to prove it.

Re: Tottenham Hotspur Official Thread
letting in such stupid goals. we had it coming and fully deserved the loss.
1st: offside
2nd: no pressure was put on steinsson but was a very good finish.
3rd: unnecessary penalty from Ekotto again. (gave away 8 penalties last season, i wonder if he can top it this season )
4th: well we was just attacking and didnt matter if we let in goal.
also i think the starting line up was awfull. and srsly redknapp... PLAY PAV INSTEAD OF CROUCH!

How embarrassing.
I want Dawson back ASAP. Isn't Defoe back? I swear he was fine now.
Come January, I'm thinking Kranjcar and Bentley out, A capable left back in and a good outside player that can play as back up. I would also like a top class striker to finally join us although those are few and far in between in January.

Re: Tottenham Hotspur Official Thread
Really poor display at Bolton. It also showed how important Huddlestone is in midfield, as we only really started to play well when he came on. The 2 goals we good (the Hutton one was similar to the Jenas one in the 4-4 with Arsenal) but not enough to mask bad performance overall.
Defoe is doing ballwork now in training, so should be back in a couple of weeks. Although i'm sure it will take a few weeks for him to get match sharp again. But we really do miss him, aswell as Dawson and King at the back.
Hopefully we can put things right tomorrow night against Sunderland.
In January I want us to sign Ashley Young and Fernando Llorente.

Those would both be good signings although I'm a little skeptical about Llorente.mil1lion wrote:Really poor display at Bolton. Hasn't Young suspended contract talks? Sounds like he's angling for a move.

Buying young would mean Bale LB? No thanks. would rather us buy a solid LB instead. ... but if Bale gets bought then he would be a great replacement. Although I cant see him going in the near future.

I don't see why Hutton or Corluka don't go LB. Hutton looks good now he's having games and Corluka is so friggin under-rated it's unreal.
Gomes
Hutton Dawson King Corluka
Huddlestone Modric
Lennon VanDerVaart Bale
Crouch
Subs: Cudicini, Gallas, Kaboul, Sandro, Kranjcar, Defoe, Pavyluchenko.
Not a bad team there.

More as competition for either wing or behind the striker. The number of games VDV and Lennon will miss we could do with the extra quality. We could also do with resting Bale from time to time aswell. I think we need to rotate our squad better anyway.THFC-93 wrote:Buying young would mean Bale LB? Re: Tottenham Hotspur Official Thread
Why will you not consider Bale at left back. He's as good if not better than BAE at defending. He'd basically be a wing back though, he shown against Inter that he has high fitness so why not play him like a wing back like Cole and Evra do? That way you could buy Young to play in front of him and your left side would be destructive.

Re: Tottenham Hotspur Official Thread
I think Bale still makes too many mistakes defending. But with experience I think he will become a great left back. Playing that role takes a lot of discipline though and he's still young.

Re: Tottenham Hotspur Official Thread
Luis Suarez has told Ajax he would be interested in Tottenham move
Ajax star Luiz Suarez has told club officials he is interested in a move to Tottenham, Goal.com UK can reveal.
Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has made the Uruguayan striker a target as he looks to add a top class forward to his squad in January.
Suarez is expected to leave Ajax either in January or at the end of the season and has been linked with some of the biggest clubs in Europe including Barcelona, Manchester United and Juventus.
But the 23-year-old has made it known – at least in the Netherlands – that he would like to talk to Spurs if the Londoners can agree a transfer fee with the Dutch club.
Suarez is expected to cost at least £25 million and his openness to a move to White Hart Lane poses a challenge to Spurs chairman Daniel Levy as to whether he would be willing to fund a deal.
Tottenham would have to pay a premium to land their man in January rather than the summer, while Suarez's wage demands of around £90,000-a-week and the fact he is cup-tied in the Champions League could also prove to be stumbling blocks.
Suarez, whose contract at the Amsterdam Arena runs out in summer 2013, has also made it clear he will not force a move and insists he is happy in the Netherlands.
“Suarez has heard of interest from Tottenham and he would be interested in the possibility,” an Ajax insider told Goal.com UK.
“Maybe before he thought Spurs were too small for him but now he would go there if the right deal was agreed by everyone.
“He would like to challenge himself in one of the big European leagues but at the same time Ajax don't want to sell him and he is very content here.
“To sign him in January would be very expensive as we would need a replacement and the best players cost a lot of money. I don't know if Tottenham can pay what it would take to sign him.”
Suarez feels a move to the Premier League would allow him to prove his ability after seeing interest from elite clubs fade because of concerns over the poor standard of the Eredivisie.
It is unknown how much influence Martin Jol, the former Tottenham manager now in charge of Ajax, has had on Suarez's interest in the move.
Spurs were the talk of Europe last week after beating European champions Inter 3-1 and have received increased exposure in the Netherlands since the £8m summer signing of Rafael van der Vaart from Real Madrid.
Despite their Champions League success, Redknapp's side are labouring in the Premier League and have failed to win their last four games in the division.
Tottenham's striking quartet – Peter Crouch, Roman Pavlyuchenko, Robbie Keane and Jermain Defoe – have misfired this term with just three league goals between them from 12 league matches.
Redknapp expressed an interest in Suarez, Edin Dzeko, Diego Forlan and Luis Fabiano over the summer but was priced out of a move for all of his main targets.
There remain concerns over how Suarez could fulfil the role as a lone striker but he is renowned for his excellent movement, skill and finishing.
Suarez is one of the hottest properties in Europe after scoring 49 goals last season and another three at the World Cup as Uruguay reached the semi-finals.
He joined Ajax from Groningen in the summer of 2007 for €7.5m (£6.4m) and quickly developed in to the star player in the Dutch capital.
God I hope it's true

Re: Tottenham Hotspur Official Thread
I think Suarez has all the tools to be a great player.
Such a shame we've gone all summer and the first half of this season dreaming of a top quality striker. I still cant believe we didn't sign one in the summer, and now with Defoe out it has really cost us. We're starting to lose ground on the top teams because we cant score goals. We're also leaking goals without Dawson and King.
Still a long way to go yet, but i'm getting frustrated with how the season is panning out atm. We desperately need to beat Blackburn at the weekend. I'm starting to think this season is going to be all about going as far as we can in the Champions League, and having a go for the FA Cup. 4th place is starting to slip away from us.

Re: Tottenham Hotspur Official Thread
Usually I would agree, but this season is turning out to be the most competitive ever and if it keeps up then it would be anyone's guess who'll finish 4th not to mention 3rd. There are many games left to play and many dry spells for teams to have, not to mention win streaks.

I thought Gomes was doing a good job for you? There's no need to buy Suarez if that's the case..
