Crouch is only good against teams that don't know how to play against him (Europe and International), not in the league. They know simply by putting physical pressure on him it nullifys him. Other teams are intimidated by his height, then bang goal.

Agreed. Khumalo looks allright from what i saw of him in the world cup. and he has age on his side to replace the weary legs of gallas.

I agree with the Crouch thing too. We need a tall striker with physical presence and is a good finisher. Perhaps someone in the mould of Fernando Llorente or Edin Dzeko. Tall strong ST who can score both with his head and with his feet. looking forward to seeing how we will play when defoe is back. we will have to sacrifice someone like lennon or modric. unless we play Defoe the lone ST. he played the lone ST role with Rooney behind him for England when he got a hat trick so he might be ok in 4411 with VDV playing behind him. who knows...

We literally ALWAYS have trouble with Bolton. I remember several 3-2's and a couple 2-2's in the past few years. Aargh. Hopefully we don't have hangover after this big win and come out all guns blazing.

You know what makes me happier than anything about our current situation? Our two best players, Luka Modric and Gareth Bale, are both very loyal and aren't thinking about anything but the club. These are the kind of players the game has been missing over the past decade or so and I'm over the moon that there are two of these types of players at our club.
