You think its easy to just tell a player like Joe Cole "hey buddy I know you used to be great but you're shit now so you're a backup." believe it or not some players wouldn't take too kindly to that

Cole wants to stay. As does Poulsen. Meireles isn't that good - Adam is better. Maxi will definitely be a back-up.

I agree I think Meireles is much better then Adam, Meireles was fantastic last season.

Raul was frustrating at times. On his day, he was a very good player. Went through that scoring patch, then died down again. Inconsistent, and had not nailed down a position in the squad.

I guess you Liverpool people saw him more then me but I thought he was great, Charlie Adam could be a flop waiting to happen despite his great season last year.

This is tough.

Meireles does alot of things well but Adam does some things amazing.

I think this can only be really judged after Adam has played a season for Liverpool because at Blackpool he had to try and hit a "hollywood pass" every chance he could so they could score goals. He won't need to do that at Liverpool because they have better quality players so his game will be different.
