Liverpool's best midfielder edges towards exit Empty Liverpool's best midfielder edges towards exit

Post by Theo Filippo Tue Jul 26, 2011 11:01 pm

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/jul/26/liverpool-alberto-aquilani-fiorentina-loan

Alberto Aquilani's agent has claimed a deal is in place with Liverpool to take the midfielder to Fiorentina.

The 27-year-old Italy international, a £17m signing from Roma in 2009, appears surplus to requirements at Anfield and is widely expected to join La Viola on a season-long loan.

Aquilani's agent, Franco Zavaglia, has revealed the deal now hinges only on the player agreeing personal terms with the Serie A club.

"The agreement between Fiorentina and Alberto has not yet been reached," Zavaglia told Gazzetta dello Sport. "If we talk of an agreement, that was only reached between the two clubs, because Fiorentina did not come to any decision with us."

Aquilani has failed to settle at Liverpool since signing a five-year deal following his big-money arrival two years ago. He has made just 28 appearances for the club and spent last season on loan at Juventus.

Real shame for Liverpool who are now in tatters.

It is a real loss, not the best Midfielder for Liverpool but I am honestly sad to see him go, and I'm not a Liverpool fan. One season and he could be great.

Meh, I want him to stay, but he prefers to live in Italy. His agent has been pushing for a move all season back to Italy. Some just can't settle, he was just one of them.

Seen better players leave Liverpool, and if he wants to leave good luck to him. But i think i will listen to a better judge than you, about what state Liverpool football club is in. Maybe you should worry about your own Club, but then again you post more about Liverpool than Arsenal.

Just like Benitez was the better judge to sell Sissoko, Alonso, Mascherano, Bellamy, Crouch, Arbeloa, Riise scratch

At least Liverpool aren't losing their 2 best players like Arsenal. 1 of which is the only world class player they have.

Aquilani doesn't want to be here, that's no secret, hardly Adam's fault that.

I think we bought Adam because Aquilani wants to go back home. Since he has been here, people have been saying he hasn't settled in england.

Would like him to stay, but if a player wants to go, who can stop him?

Aquilani is good, but they'll be fine without him if he does go, could still stay though.
