Just a complete Legend of a footballer.cheesy wrote:Ryan Giggs
Man United have now been in a prolonged era of dominance where they have won 12 league titles and 2 European Cups. Throughout that time Ryan Giggs has played for the club and is one of the most decorated players ever in the history of world football.
He broke into the team as a youngster and automatically made a name for himself as a pacy young winger. Since the Premier League was formed, he has displayed his consistency by scoring a league goal in every single season.
He was an integral part of the treble winning squad in 1999, as he scored the winning goal in the FA Cup semi-final against Arsenal. This brilliant goal showed just how good a player he was.
In 2008 when United won the European Cup again, he broke the appearance record held by Sir Bobby Charlton. In this season he also won his 10th Premier League title. Since then he has continued to play and has won a player of the year award, as well as having now made over 800 appearances for the club.

George graham was scottish bud. It was Howard Wilkinson who was the last English manager to win the league title in the top League 1992.cheesy wrote:Was Graham English? Its a hard bloody vote Giggs or Scholes over the past 20 years or so must be well up there and should go down as 2 of the greatest players to have played in English football and beyond but the players of years ago like Best and Charlton and Edwards and the likes were absolute top class aswell.cheesy wrote:Tell that to James, who thinks that Tevez was better.Liverpool fc 4 ever wrote:Just a complete Legend of a footballer.cheesy wrote:Ryan Giggs

The former players of the Busby days have to be considered as well. They laid the foundations for the recent legends to do what they have done.Liverpool fc 4 ever wrote:Its a hard bloody vote Giggs or Scholes over the past 20 years or so must be well up there and should go down as 2 of the greatest players to have played in English football and beyond but the players of years ago like Best and Charlton and Edwards and the likes were absolute top class aswell.cheesy wrote:Tell that to James, who thinks that Tevez was better.Liverpool fc 4 ever wrote:Just a complete Legend of a footballer.cheesy wrote:Ryan Giggs

I voted Charlton because of his class and ability, along with his committment to the club: he played for us for a very long time and has remained an important figure at the club since then.

Obviously he has betrayed his family and destroyed his reputation as a role model but that shouldn't take away from what he has done.
George Best was never exactly a top class role model either but is rightfully one of our greatest ever players.

Just because you know the history of a club, it doesn't mean anything. Infact, that is one of few points that distinguishes glory hunters from real fans, the gloryhunters will try and back up their club by taking stuff off wiki.

What club I support is irrelevant.
Fact is, knowing the history of something means nothing. Someone who goes to games > someone who doesn't.

Also, answer these questions. What if someone isn't going to games because they can't afford tickets or a season ticket? What if someone always attended games but moved to a different country? What if someone does not like to be in big crowds? These may seem silly but there will be cases when it happens in life.

It has nothing to do with how good your team is, the fact you even use that as a point makes you sound like a glory hunter.
If you don't go to games you don't support the team, end of. There is obviously extreme circumstances like people being made unemployed so they have to stop going but that is different and does not apply to the hundreds of thousands of glory hunters like yourself.
2nd point is a fair one but doesn't apply in your case.
3rd one is ridiculous.

I saw that you support Leeds in another thread and I am not surprised. You are probably calling me a gloryhunter because you are jealous that we have sustained our success when you have fallen down the divisions. The Miz wrote:cheesy wrote:The club you support is relevant. Are you one of those rival fans who have a pathetic hate for Man United and hate them more than you like your own club, therefore have to make lots of digs about them and troll in threads concerning them.
Just because you don't go to games, it doesn't automatically make you a gloryhunter. You said that those were extreme cases but they will happen a lot and the first one would often apply in today's world.
My 3rd point is not ridiculous and you have just been ignorant by ignoring it. There are people around who don't like being in big crowds and there are people who have a phobia of going outdoors. That wouldn't happen a lot but I guarantee you that there are people in this position.

No, you are wrong. I am not a Leeds fan which makes your first 2 paragraphs irrelevant.
"often apply in todays world" You realise often usually means 51% + and that amount of people are not unemployed.
Maybe, but if you are scared of going outdoors then you aren't going to succeed in life and may as well kill yourself. You can't do anything sitting in your house 24/7.

Sorry, I misentrepreted the first part but it does not make it completely irrelevant. Judging by your posts it does seems as though you hate everything about Manchester United, therefore troll in threads about them.
Often does not mean 51%. You just made that up right on the spot. Often simply means a large number of people and there are a large number of people out of work at the moment. I do not use that in any percentage.
Nowadays with the internet, you can do a lot of things in your own house. Someone who is housebound could make up a business and sell things on the internet, making a fortune from it.

You took it totally off topic. And the unemployment rate is nowhere near enough so that we can say "if often see unemployed people" because you don't. You see employed people more often then not!

No, it doesn't. Stop making up your own definitions. If that's what "often usually means," then what is the point of a phrase like "more often than not." That would be straight out of the Department of Redundancy Department.
Are you a cunt just for the sake of cunstmanship or is this just your natural disposition?

You could answer this in one of two ways: In terms of who had the greatest career at Man Utd or in terms of who just the raw greatest player to ever put on the shirt. I think in terms of the former, it's Charlton. In terms of the latter, probably Ronaldo.

That is a very good way to put it and I will always judge the best player of a club by the former as the latter can be flawed at times.menalawyerguy wrote:You could answer this in one of two ways: In terms of who had the greatest career at Man Utd or in terms of who just the raw greatest player to ever put on the shirt. If Pele had played 3 games for Man United and scored 6 goals, then by the latter he would technically be the greatest ever player in the history of the club despite only playing 3 games.

So a bunch of Chinese fans that fly over 5 times a season are better fans than myself, because I can't afford tickets?
