I like Bale, but he doesn't deserve this by a long way.
Too little impact 2nd half of the season..been injured a bit too much too.
Hopefully next season he can stay fit, Spurs can get a good striker in and he can earn it

I'm a Spurs fan and love Bale, one of our best performers this year, BUT not good enough for the award to be honest. The media have over-hyped him, but at the same time people don't see his contributions during 90 minutes and probably just watch MOTD highlights. Yes he scored a hat-trick against Inter, but he's done more than that this season, he links the play well and tracks back to help Assou-Ekotto. If our strikers had been more clinical this year then he would have had more assists.

He needs to be as close to the other teams goal as possible, his finishing has been pretty good this year as shown by his goals against inter, arsenal, stoke, twente, etc.

Would be more suited on the overlap with more room for his driving runs to have an impact imo. Marcelo and Alves have shown you can get plenty of goalscoring chances from left back so that finishing point doesnt carry much weight either.
