At an Independent Regulatory Commission today Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand was given a four match suspension to be served with immediate effect.

Ferdinand denied a charge of violent conduct in relation to an incident in Manchester United’s home match with Hull City on Saturday 23 January 2010.

Rooney was let off with it because the FA's rules are shite, same happened for Gerrard.

You're the guy who just admitted that you will disregard any evidence that refutes your theory that Man Utd can do whatever they want and never get punished, even if that evidence directly proves you wrong.

Manchester City player Christian Negouai, who was fined £2,000 for missing a test. Was not banned.

Yeah but he turned up late because of traffic and was willing to take the test. Rio didn't turn up at all so was charged with refusal to take the test. Sounds pretty fair to me.

And the last one was Adrian Mutu, who was banned for 7 months.

Rio proved he hadn't taken any drugs by submitting to a hair follicle test which covers 6 months. There was never any question about whether or not he was clean.

If it was a foreign Wigan player on Rooney the FA would ban him without even thinking about it Rolling Eyes
