'Form is temporary, class is permanent'
Stop getting carried away with Berba's form, it's mainly down to Rooney misfiring and returning to a deeper, more playmaker-style role, while Berba profits from being more advanced, therefore his laziness isn't noticed as widely. A top 5 striker would be scoring at least 20+, maybe even 30+ goals a season, Berba has only hit 18 this season, and even then he doesn't do it consistently, it comes in spurts (that's what she said, I know). I would rather have a striker score at least a goal a game then one who scores 5 in one game every 5 games, because if your other players are good enough, other players might score, your striker may assist, or your defence might not concede. If you're scoring many goals every few games though then you lack consistency, a key part of a forwards game. Forwards like Villa, Drogba when at his best, Torres at his best, Rooney at his best, Ibrahimovic, Eto'o, Henry, all but a few examples who have churned out goals consistently too help their team to various titles, maybe not in Torres case, but he's come damn close.
