My friends, Dimitar Berbatov today showed me just how remarkable a footballer he is. Everyone around him plays bad, Blackburn stick 10 players defending in the penalty box, and the service provided to him non-existant yet he still manages to grab himself two goals. Another two goals from a Berbatov start and 6 goals in 200 minutes of football. This type of statistic is unheard of globally, especially to a player who has not played regular football for 6 months.
I think that the vast majority of people can see that the reason Berbatov hasn't been starting is that he is too quick for his own teamates and thus can often end up offside, frustrated, unfound and unseen by his teamates. I saw a completely free Dimitar Berbatov at the backpost today but Nani ignored him and blazed a shot miles over the bar.
I also find him absolutely stunning in his efforts to help out defensively. Entrusted by Ferguson as the only player capable of marking Chris Samba, and keeping him quiet the whole game. This is unheard of. Nobody prevents Chris Samba from winning aerial balls and yet Berbatov did it with aplomb.
Despite Ferguson's numerous attempts, he has failed to keep Dimitar Berbatov down, and he continues to rise time and time again. It cannot be easy when he has selfish footballers such as Nani, Rooney, Welbeck and Hernandez around him but yet he continues to shine through. I would like your thoughts on Dimitar Berbatov, and give me your opinions of whether any striker in the premier league can match him or compete with him.
