They fought us off, any other year, our points tally would've won us the league. The reason we lost it was because they were so good.

Scotty, you cannot deny they were sensational that season. They got 90 points.

We finished with 90 points, our biggest haul since the 90s, won the Carling Cup and the Club World Cup in the same season, FA Cup semi Final, Champions League Final..ScottyBoy_21 wrote:If you say so.
Yeah, if that isn't pretty brilliant I don't know what is

I honestly believe that United had one of their best ever squads in the 08/09 season, they were truely sensational. Liverpool did very well to keep the title race alive untill the penultimate week of the season.

Saying "if you say so" is not exactly disagreeing with you.
Just means, if you say so.

Why did Torres put five fingers up after he scored against Man United btw? I was told before, but I've forgotten?
Did he score five against them at that point or something?

No, i believe he raised his arm and opened his fist while celebrating.
He was clearly holding 5 fingers up purposefully.

Seriously?
The same reason Jamie Carragher did it to Chelsea last season.
The Champions League?

Everybody does it, not every celebration has a message.

Torres had nothing to do with us winning the Champions League. Bit weird that he would put five fingers up. That's not the reason I was told before though.

Neither did Carra's little lad, didn't stop him doing it to Chelsea fans last season.
He plays for us, they were giving him abuse. He knows his history.

Didn't even show Aurelio's free kick?
Imagine Gerrard hadn't had been brought down by Vidic, and ended up scoring the resulting one on one with Van Der Sar. Would that have been better?
Tbh Aurelio's free kick was beautiful.
Irrelevant tbh. Although, you were fortunate. What with some of the refereeing decisions and comebacks, a la Spurs (you got a penalty that wasn't a penalty, which stemmed your ridiculous comeback Spurs gifted you that game) And the two late goals against Aston Villa, etc. Man United had lady luck on their side.
if you play with high intensity for the full 90mins putting the ball in dangerous positions and have players who can change the outcome of games I don't call that luck. Just playing the % game regarding shots and crosses we're bound to win more games than most.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Liverpool’s Lucas Leiva has admitted on Twitter that he has to mute his TV to avoid the analysis of Andy Gray and co.
After tweeting that he would be watching Chelsea v Aston Villa and Wigan v Newcastle on Super Sunday, one follower wrote: “Super Sunday you can’t beat that programme…Bit of Andy Gray here and there.”
To which, the Brazilian responded: “I watch without sound hehehe

When was Torres' first season? 07/08?
We beat you twice in the league that season and you didn't get a goal, that was his first v us, 5th.
Hasn't even scored 5 v us now has he, I think it's like 3, I'm probably forgetting one.
