Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
He has rejected the offer apparently, he seems keen to "fight for his place" or, in other words, get paid to do nothing.

The reality is that it's almost impossible to keep a transfer under wraps now.Scott_LFC wrote:I do get the feeling we are going to make one "wow" signing, though. There's too much noise about it at the moment for it to just end up not happening. Di Maria seems to be the latest name being mooted.
Apparently there's an Andy Heaton tweet where he reveals he's been told by Tony Evans that we're in for a signing that is "OMFG". But Tony Evans has been sworn to secrecy and couldn't reveal any more than that. It would make sense for LFC to make sure this marquee signing is kept under wraps.
Could all just be bullshit, though. We better at least get Moreno.

Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund have reached an agreement over the transfer of Reus. They've agreed that it's never going to happen.

Isco should have chosen to stay with his spirit granddad Pellegrini rather than the evil empire of Real Madrid.

As reported in Sportske Novosti, Dejan Lovren's £20m move from Southampton to Liverpool is expected to be completed in the coming days.

Cissokho was excellent, he delayed Flanagan's arrival in the first team & forced us to (unsuccessfully) try to convince a few League 2 teams to take him.Keyser Söze wrote:What loan deal has Rodgers brought in at Liverpool that has been "good"?Scouser_Dave wrote:We've made a loan bid for Isco apparently. "Respected Belgian journo Sven Claes has confirmed that Liverpool are in for Zakaria Bakkali of PSV. The Belgian youngster has 1 year left on his deal and PSV have him training with the reserves as he won't sign a new one. PSV had accepted a bid from Eintracht, but upon hearing Liverpool were interest Bakkali rejected the move. Negotiations are ongoing, the fee agreed with Enitracht was believed to be between €2m and €3m."
Rodgers must have found this one from Fifa 14. Jokes aside €3m is a risk free signing.

The Telegraph, The Guardian, the BBC, Sky Sports or The Times. If the article says "According to reports" or opens with "Reports: Player X to Team Y" then it's worthless.

Mats Hummels for £16. If David Luiz goes for £50m, Hummels is easily worth at least £100m.

Looks like we have beaten Arsenal to the loan signing of Atletico Madrid right back Javier Manquillo. Don't know if he's any good or not but he surely can't be any worse than Glen Johnson.

I'm not sure how effective they'll be in attack, but having such a pacey forward line is great news for your defence. Few teams will do anything other than sit back against you.

That post was FIFA-related.
Not many teams successfully sat back against us last season. Quite a few attempted to do so, and then abandoned plans once they went 1-0 down. Only Chelsea pulled it off, IIRC. Norwich came close at Anfield, until the Gerrard free-kick was powered into the top corner.

You're right, it was. We destroyed Norwich
They played in yellow, that must have been what threw me.
