He basically supported Mel Gibson's anti-semitism by saying that it's okay because basically everyone has been racist a couple of times in their lives. He also went on a rant against political correctness, kind of making an ass out of himself in the process.

I kinda feel bad now, because at the time I said he was the worst player in the competition, that I couldn't believe he was a professional football player, and that he looked like a donkey.
It's the worst thing I've ever said about a professional footballer and now I'm a bit guilt ridden about it.

I'm not sure how far in you are but about midway in the 1st season Lester drops that mysterious vibe that makes him so cool early on, but he's still got enough about him to be an excellent character throughout.

D'Angelo is my favourite character from season 1 and probably in my top five for the entire series. Very few characters in television come close to matching his complexity. It's no surprise to see Glen think Lester is the best character, though. He only judges characters by his moral standards.

Stringer is a character of incredible depth and dimensions, no doubt because he is acted out by perhaps the greatest performer of his generation. Lester transitions from "disconnected genius" to "wise old head" a bit too quickly for my liking, but he is still exceptional. By whose standards would you rather I judge characters? Danny Ball's? Yours?
