I hear there are some exceptional individuals at that university.
I imagine they will probably be gone by the time I can attend, though.  Sad

The cost of living in London, though. oh god why I wonder if I could get university-sponsored housing and just pay the standard fee, not that that's any cheaper with their exorbitant rates.  Rolling Eyes

Surprisingly not.  Perhaps my university's conservative roots would be compromised by an arrangement with such a hedonistic nation.

We have options in Denmark and Belgium, even Hungary, but not the Netherlands.

    Nice  Giggity

What's the main determining factor for getting into University in America? Money or grades?

For example, in the UK pretty much everyone gets funding so it basically a matter of what you get in your A Levels. And even then a lot of people get As or A* in shitty subjects so again it's determined by what 3/4 A Levels you pick. Is that like the same in the US?

I would say it is a bit of both, with emphasis also placed on "extracurriculars" and "character," as they employ a "holistic" analysis of you and your résumé.  It also helps to go to private school instead of a public high/secondary school-they aren't supposed to take that into account, but private school students are over-represented in private universities, presumably because it hints at wealthy & less need to hand out scholarships to the student.  I imagine the same is true of schools in the UK.

What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I’m the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fucking dead, kiddo.

I'm still in like level 12 on GTA online. Laughing

You kinda have to play with other people to get the most out of it, and I have like zero friends to play with and playing with strangers online is about as fun as a root canal.

Kinda hate that GTA online is probably the reason we haven't had any GTA V story dlc yet too. Loved the GT IV dlc.

I had a decent first year, got most of my general education requirements out of the way, although my roommate was a drunk.

Whereabouts in Germany?  Is it a German-speaking program?

Agreed, he lied through his teeth on the roommate search survey.  Rolling Eyes

I went there a decade ago, beautiful place.  If you do speak a bit of German, you are probably better off in the West as well, none of the listening exercises prepare you for the jarring experience of hearing an East German accent.

I am at Georgetown, but I haven't decided my major yet.  I have until March and will probably wait until the deadline, I'll probably choose something that I will hate and immediately regret.

I do, although I might not continue.  I've taken it for 5 years in school + 2 semesters, and I've gotten to the point where I can only improve by expanding my vocab.  I suspect that's best served by studying there, and I'm not overly keen on that.

It would be just typical of the Catholics to slaughter a young Protestant lad in his sleep.  Rolling Eyes
