Tottenham and Everton have never finished ahead of us in Premier League history, I don't see how they could possibly be considered our rivals. The rivals to which I'm referring are the ones we finished three and five points behind in the league last year.  Smile

    Speaking of Spurs and Everton.

There are rumors that Spurs manager is interested in Hector Moreno. He's the manager that originally brought him to Europe so he probably knows him well.

Oh, and Everton might be interested in Enner Valencia.

I will riot if signing Lallana means no Shaqiri or Sanchez.

BBC reporting Barcelona still want Suarez (it's their top story on the website at the moment)

    Please sign Sanchez. Please.

I made a post on Redcafe (Man Utd forum) back in August 2013 about Herrera. Some guy on there PM'ed me and asked me to put it on his website. So I let him.

The reason behind that is because many teams in La Liga actually press through the centre, which is almost unheard of in the Premier League and if afforded the space, Herrera would thrive in the middle of midfield.

If playing beach soccer meant Wenger was too preoccupied to spend £25million on Lallana or £30million on Shaw then long may it continue.

    Tony Barrett ‏@TonyBarretTimes 40s
Liverpool moving rapidly in the transfer market. Deals for Origi & Lallana almost done and now a move for Benfica's Lazar Markovic too.

Anyone shed any light on him? Just watched a couple of videos of him and he looks great, but of course, that's cherry-picked highlights.

Where the hell are our defensive signings? rofl

Emre Can will play in midfield so Gerrard can make his long-anticipated move into central defense.

Hopefully this doesn't turn out to be a disaster similar to one Spurs had last summer. I'd rather we signed 2 or 3 quality signings rather than a load of potential players.

How not?  He's been hit and miss in the market.  He's had one exceptional window (Coutinho & Studge), but besides that he's spent a lot of money on:

    Aspas-Torres turn aside, awful.
Alberto-Young, but doesn't look like he'll ever make it.  Decent skill, but no pace and ponderous on the ball
    Allen-Really good player but pricey
Borini-Average, good resale value tbf fair
Sakho-Okay first season, but 17m is a huge sum for a defender and he really needs to be dominant this season
    Ilori-Too soon to say
    Assaidi-Cheap and kind of pointless
    Mignolet-Average
King Kolo-Not bad for a squad player I guess, but ridiculously error-prone

This window, he's brought in Rickie (could be an inspired short term signing, but nothing to put on his resume) and Emre Can, a player who has failed to live up to his potential by all accounts.  Rodgers is clearly a good man-manager, taking a number of seemingly hopeless players to levels nobody expected, and a decent tactician, but his transfer record is a bit worrying, hence a few reports claiming that his control over ins and outs has actually been curtailed.

I wasn't really talking about the signings, I was talking about how he's got us playing. More (good) players on the books can only improve us, when you consider what he's managed to pull off with our incredibly thin squad so far.

I mean, under him, Sturridge has turned into a brilliant striker and was England's number 1 forward after never being called up, like, ever. Coutinho has been able to show the world just how good he is, Sterling has gone from being an inconsistent pace-merchant to genuinely being one of most feared attacking players in the League, Suarez has gone from a poor finisher to the best striker in the League, Henderson has become an integral cog in the Liverpool machine, etc.

We've gone from having a misfiring Suarez, Andy Carroll, Downing and a weak Sterling to possessing arguably the best attack in the League.

My point is, Rodgers seems to be an exceptional manager and I have no doubt he'll get the best out of any signings we make. I am looking forward to seeing what he can do with Can, and I am also looking forward to seeing how he uses Lallana.

I probably just about agree with you.  I'm taken aback by the fees, but given the amount paid for other players, maybe we are dealing with a newly inflated market due to the TV deal.
