No less than 80M for Suarez

    http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/luis-suarez-transfer-news-liverpool-will-not-allow-uruguay-striker-to-join-barcelona-for-less-than-80m-9569146.html

Reckon Barca will offer a player plus £50M though. Don't want him to leave but Sanchez plus a considerable amount of cash would certainly soften the blow.

We can't really go wrong with this, if he turns into another N'Gog, we'll probably still break even.

Lallana is a good player and might add something to the team, but there are doubtless players in Spain of similar ability whom we could have signed for 10m or less.

Hmm.  Will we sign an out and out striker in addition to Sanchez, or is the plan to have Sanchez play off of Studge?  Where does that leave us with Shaqiri as well?

Can anyone shed light on whether Sanchez is comfortable playing through the middle on his own/in a false 9? I'm pretty terrified at the thought of Sturridge getting injured, allowing us to line up at the Allianz Arena with Rickie Lambert leading the line.

Hopefully the £50M or whatever Barca pay will be enough to buy another Striker. Doubt it will be a like for like replacement for Suarez which is the only thing worrying me. Don't want another Carroll situation on our hands.

With Lallana looking likely I doubt we will sign Shaqiri. Especially if we manage to get Sanchez as well.

We already have another Carroll situation on our hands, fortunately he only cost us 4 million this time.

Markovic is only 50% owned by Benfica. Plus Chelsea have first refusal on him for some reason. Doubt we will be able to get around that.

Who reported that, was it Tony Barrett with a trademark "Liverpool are closing in on" tweet?  I seem to recall his saying that we would have Lallana, Moreno, and Lovren wrapped up before the World Cup.

The owner of his previous club Partizan before he signed for Benfica. There is a lot of confusion around it though.

I can't believe that we need defenders and pull out of Moreno because he cost £5m too much. Yet we're about to spend £10m on a 19 year old striker who scored 6 goals in about 40 apps last season. I wouldn't mind him if we actually had our priorities (defenders) sorted out, but we don't.

£10m for Origi, £20m for Markovic/Shaqiri, £25m for Lallana, £4m for Lambert, £10m for Can. That's £70m WITHOUT a left back or centre back. Suarez is off

Yeah, let's see what happens when France face a team with a striker that is better then the best striker that would've played in France's group had he not been deceased.

In hindsight, Sakho was underwhelming this season.  Slow on the turn, any quality on the ball he may have is undone by the fact he moves like an imitation of Basil Fawlty, and average in the air.  Maybe he'll improve with his English & the arrival of a partner who isn't Skrtel, but I'm still a bit nervous about him.

Signing a controversial striker to replace a controversial striker is idiotic.

I couldn't care less about the controversy. He's just not worth the transfer fee and the wages. He's rumored to want around 10million a year (not sure € or £ but either way it's still far too much) and an Italian paper owned by Berlusconi has said Milan are holding out for 30million (again, not sure € or £ but either way it's far too much)

He plays in such a lethargic style. He's had similar stats to Giroud this season and has had a shit World Cup. And he's always bottled in the big games for Milan. He's an upgrade on Giroud but that shouldn't be the only prerequisite for us. If the price was more reasonable and our only other option would be to stick with Giroud for another season, then yes I want him at Arsenal. But that's more a testament to how shit Giroud is.

Balotelli was pretty good for City in the big games. I think he got man of the match in the first FA cup final and obviously played very well in the 6-1, those just off the top of my head.

I don't think he will ever live up to his potential though.
