Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
Clear psychological issue preventing us from ever being comfortable in high pressure situations. An FA Cup win would do well to eliminate that. Hopefully a new manager as well in order to build on it.

I hope Wenger wins the Cup and stays because of it. Arsenal have really stagnated in the League under his management, finishing 4th every season. Can only be a good thing for teams aspiring to win the Premier League.

5th in the League.

I believe that's an actual Cup win. Not just merely getting into a final.

Enraged that Arsenal players had the audacity to celebrate an achievement.

You find it comical that a sports team celebrates a victory?

I find it comical that a sports team like Arsenal celebrated narrowly beating Wigan after ET/penalties, as if they had just won the European Cup, yes.

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
It's their first FA Cup Final for 9 years. They knocked out Spurs, Liverpool, Everton, and the holders (who had just beaten Man City). Of course they're going to bloody celebrate it.

They can wait until they win the thing otherwise they're going to look very foolish.

Not really. They're celebrating reaching the final. I doubt much of the team has even played in a cup final before, so even more reason to celebrate.

Everyone stop what you're doing! Scott says you can't celebrate anything unless it's a European Cup final win.

I don't think anyone is criticising them for celebrating as such, just for celebrating drawing with a Championship side like it was winning the European Cup rather than showing a bit more reserve and decorum.

Strange that Scott didn't give a running commentary of the game after Wigan went ahead, like he's done with all our games this season when we go behind Probably desperately logged onto the forum with the thread title and OP typed up, just waiting for Wigan to go 2-0 up or for the final whistle to blow so he could post it

It's their biggest achievement in years, I think they had every right to celebrate like they did... Like it was that much of a big deal anyway.
I'd like to see how other teams would celebrate.

This.
It was the manner of the celebration. Extremely over the top for what it was

It's not an achievement, once you get to a penalty shootout against a Championship team there are no achievements, only degrees of failure. The Zlatan wrote:ResurrectionRooney wrote:I don't think anyone is criticising them for celebrating as such, just for celebrating drawing with a Championship side like it was winning the European Cup rather than showing a bit more reserve and decorum.

Handshakes all around next time then, just smiles on faces and a clap of appreciation to the fans.
High pressure situation on a massive stage, common reaction of a penalty shootout win...

Re: Official Arsenal FC Thread
No, I wouldn't begrudge Arsenal a celebration, but it was really over the top. You have a habit of doing that for small-time achievements, though. Like beating Spurs the other week and finishing 4th last season.
I guess that's what happens when you've been deprived of trophies for so long, you need to celebrate every little victory as if you've just won the European Cup.
Seriously, though. Go and look at the Istanbul celebrations, and then look at Arsenal's celebrations last night. Embarrassingly similar.

It's like you've never seen a team win on penalties before apart from in the Champions League.
Oh, and yesterday.
