While Lucas continues to be extremely over rated and Joe Allen continues to be fucking woeful, Gerrard is still boss.
Lucas has still been good but if you think Gerrard was this good last season then you are no better than that samiz guy.
Gerrard is playing some of his best football in the past few years, I think a lot of credit has to go to whoever is managing his fitness, he hasn't had a run of matches this long for what seems lik forever. Lucas has been poor since his return in my opinion, we badly need a proper destroyer, a top class DM.

Gerrard has done okay because we have held a high line & are attacking much more. As a result, of course, we are also conceding goals for fun as Lucas has to cover for Enrique, Johnson, and Gerrard at the same time. It would not surprise me if he blows his knees out again.
We would probably have been better off signing Sigurdsson than Allen in the summer. However, I do feel we would have had more success with this sort of team, had both of them been signed:
Reina
Glen-Skrtel-Agger-Enrique
Lucas-Allen
Sigurdsson-Gerrad-Coutinho
Suarez
Lucas isn't covering anyone particularly well. However touching upon the full backs, I think we'd be better off having one defensive minded full back and one who plays more like a wing back. Johnson is twice the player Enrique is so I think we should get a solid LB and leave Johnson as he is. Sort of like Barca did with Alves and Abidal, they could easily revert to a back 3 if Alves couldn't get back in time when the opposition were countering.
I'd personally like to see us set up like this when playing away for the rest of this season:
PR
AW - MS/SC - DA
GJ - JH - SG - LL - JE
LS
DS
That wouldn't be a flat midfield 5, I just couldn't be arsed doing more lines. Johnson and Enrique wing backs. Henderson just in front of the other 2, going box to box, applying pressure. Gerrard as a regista. Lucas as a destroyer. Suarez and Sturridge up top. Coutinho in for Henderson in the home games, obviously he'd play a more creative and less workhorse like role.
It'd be similar to the Juve 3
Pirlo - Gerrard
Marchisio - Henderson
Vidal - Lucas
