Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Heard Coutinho is part of FSG's plan to do us over. They know we'd be fuming if we have to sell star players to buy new ones. So they're adopting a "buy to sell" strategy.
Coutinho is brought in now so we think yeah FSG are backing us. But then in the summer they'll sell Suarez and only give us part of the fee to go back in the team and say, "a suitable replacement wasn't available but Coutinho is doing alright int he no.10 position".
Grim times ahead.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Rumoured team for tonight: Reina, Johnson, Agger, Carragher, Enrique, Lucas, Gerrard, Henderson, Suarez, Sturridge, Downing.
Was happy with that until I realised Carragher was there. Can't believe Rodgers has fucking let him talk him in to being first choice against Arsenal
And fuck off Collie your trolling was funny a few weeks ago, getting boring now.

Downing and Carragher
I think it's going to be obvious that Henderson's looking to kick the shit out of Wilshere and Cazorla and that Suarez will destroy that shithouse Mertesacker

I was slightly wrong. I thought Coutinho was instead of Ince. Turns out we're still interested in Ince, Coutinho is Suarez' replacement.

In a way you could be right, Suarez could be off in the summer but Coutinho won't be his replacement.

To be honest Downing offers a lot more than Sterling. Only problem I have with that team is Carragher, but it's a fucking big problemCarlos Jenkinson wrote:samiz wrote:Rumoured team for tonight: Reina, Johnson, Agger, Carragher, Enrique, Lucas, Gerrard, Henderson, Suarez, Sturridge, Downing.

We know you can play in a few different positions, but which is your favourite?
I always say that players like to play and I'm no different, although I'd rather play near the goal. That is my preferred position

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
A lot more like it. We'll lose at City but a point tonight was good, after Sunday the only massive big games we'll have left are Spurs and Chelsea. Both at home. Carragher surprisingly impressed. Thought Enrique was wasted when he came on, would rather he went LB with Wisdom coming off. Blip at Oldham but good Premier League form continues. Henderson did well again. Rodgers has won me over again

It wasn't exactly surprising. Arsenal absolutely demolished us in the 2nd half, our goals were lucky. We were dropping too deep but tbh we defended very well throwing our bodies on the line, we could've/should've lost. Carragher MOTM

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Watching that game, people who go on about us not beating teams above forget that those sides are actually better than us. We hung on for large periods and our goals were pretty fortuitous. Despite that, we did alright, defensively pretty good on the whole, though attacking wise Sturridge seemed to have nothing happen for him today. If we have enough about us to take points from City it's largely plain sailing to the finish line
Regarding the whole "sell-to-buy masterplan" seems pretty unlikely, let's be honest, you can't really make a profit when you have to keep ploughing money into the side, only real way to make money (without ripping off fans and causing uproar) seems to be get into the CL or increase capacity. Getting into the CL realistically isn't happening with this squad, so either way further investment is needed to increase revenue.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
On an unrelated note, what is it with us signing players recovering from injury?
Coutinho, Sturridge, Carroll, Aquilani... (I realise this may be all of them and not that many but it just occurred to me)

BBC Sport's Ben Smith on Twitter: "May be a few players leaving Liverpool on loan and possibly one on a permanent deal if the right offer comes in. We'll see."
Suso is set to go out on loan to a championship club and Downing is the possible player going out. Just rumours at the moment though.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
The goals were lucky but we were unlucky not to score more, Agger's header off the line, Henderson's chip, Suarez' shot in the last minute. Arsenal had loud of chances as well, really could have gone either way, but they dominated in midfield and looked for threatening, although its disappointing to draw I don't think we can complain too much about the result, Arsenal could have won 5-2.
