The one against Cazorla was stonewall, he did well to avoid a scything challenge. The one today was probably about right. The Fulham one was extremely harsh, and the second against West Brom resulted from some clever thuggery from Chamberlain outside of the box.

Cazorlas was, West Brom, I mean the actual pen rather then the build up, and Fulham, it was handball imo, granted it was close but he shouldn't have his hand that far out in the box.

His hand is not extended from his body in the incident at 1:54. scratch

We're not dealing with Floyd Mayweather here, you can't expect him to pull his arm back in less than a tenth of a second.

No I agree, but he shouldn't have his arm there in the first place. There's a reason why defenders are meant to or try to put there hands behind there backs in the box. If his arm is that far out he can't complain if it hits him, it's blocking the cross.

I'm just not entirely sure that it was an intentional handball or that his arm was outside of a natural playing position.

Either way it's a penalty imo, i'm not saying it was intentional, it probably wasn't but he shouldn't have his arm that far out. It should be behind his back and he blocks the cross with it.

You're talking like theres only 2 teams in the league, every team has spells where they get decisions or spells where they dont. Its not limited to Arsenal and Liverpool.

So would you say if a defender is on the line and he has his arms out and an attacker is quite close to him, shoots, it's about to go in but hits the defenders arm even though he didn't move his arm towards it, that's fine?

I believe that the referee would correctly interpret that as a deliberate handball if his arm was extended (much of it would depend on the pace of the shot), but I do not see how that applies to Riether, whose arm was by his side.

Phil Dowd is an inept referee, that is why he gave a penalty. That is why Arteta intentionally missed the penalty kick, because he felt it would have been an injustice to deny Fulham a point.

His arm was quite far out, then when the ball was hit he tried to move it a bit to his body but it hit it.

Probably because not too many fans have recently seen the best player in the world (at the time) at their club.
